Summer Music Production / Business Programs in Spain

Berklee College of Music, Valencia Campus:
Berklee College of Music provides an intensive six-week for-credit summer music program for undergraduate students from around the world on our Valencia, Spain campus. Study options include Music Production & Technology, Music & Entertainment Business, and Liberal Arts & Mediterranean Cultural Studies. The Spain Summer Study Abroad program is a unique Berklee experience with a mix of technology, musical inspiration and practical experience while living on the vibrant Mediterranean coast for six weeks.

Summer Study Abroad Program:
- Duration: 6 weeks
- Dates: May 22 – July 4, 2014
- Language of instruction: English
- Earn 6 to 9 credits
- 3 different program tracks

Music Production and Technology:
The Music Production and Technology program track is designed to give students a comprehensive overview of the tools and technology used in the industry today. Courses / modules include:

- Weeks 1-3: Electronic Dance Music Creation with Ableton Live (2 credits)
- Weeks 1-3: Music Video Production and Dissemination (2 credits)
- Weeks 4-6: Recording Skills for Music Production (2 credits)
- Weeks 4-6: Mixing for Musicians (2 credits)

Music and Entertainment Business:
During an intensive six weeks, spend time with Berklee faculty and peers from around the world sharpening your knowledge in marketing, technology and legal aspects of international music business. Courses / modules include:

- International Music Business Seminar (3 credits)
- Managing a Technology-Driven Business (2 credits)
- Digital Strategies and Branding for Entertainment (2 credits)
- Legal Aspects of the Music Industry (2 credits)

Liberal Arts & Mediterranean Cultural Studies:
This program track gives students an opportunity to experience Mediterranean music, film and culture in person. Students select from the courses below for a maximum of 9 credits.

- Movement for Musicians (2 credits)
- Survey of Mediterranean Music Styles (2 credits)
- Rhythmic Techniques for Mediterranean Music (2 credits)
- History of Spanish Film (3 credits)
- The Art, Patrimony and Culture of Valencia (3 credits)
- Spanish 1-4 (subject to skill level placement - 3 credits)
- English as a Second Language (subject to skill level placement - 3-6 credits)

Edu-Culture Immersion, Costa del Sol
Courses / Programs
Improve your Spanish language skills, and experience Spanish and Andalusian culture first-hand through the unique individual immersion program offered by Edu-Culture Immersion (ECI), a leading language and cultural immersion organization.

Available to individual high school students and college students (ages 15-21), this program gives you the opportunity to live with a Spanish host family on the Costa del Sol for 2-4 weeks during the months of July and August. You can stay longer if you choose.

With no program of planned activities, you will live the life of a typical Spanish teenager in the beach city of Almeria, approximately 200km east of Malaga in Southern Spain. You will enjoy a summer of Spanish culture, Spanish family life & Spanish language.

ECI also gives you the opportunity to customize your immersion program. If you want to take dance classes, tennis lessons, or keep up with swim practice during your immersion stay, we will do all we can to accommodate your requests.
Spanish immersion program on the Costa del Sol for individual high school and college students (ages 15-21).

- Students choose their dates and length of stay from 2-4 weeks. Live with a Spanish host family during the months of July and August.

- There will be no classes, no group activities, no English - just total immersion in Spanish culture, Spanish family life and Spanish language.

Marbella Photography School / Costapix
Courses / Programs
Marbella Photography School is the education division of Costapix, which is one of the leading fashion / modelling / portraiture and conceptual photography companies on the Costa Del Sol in south of Spain. We provide high-quality summer photography courses and portfolio building for students from all over the world. The school is located just 10 minutes drive from Marbella - in The Fashion Village Studios / Finca Naundrup in Calahonda.

We cover a wide range of subjects, photography composition, set up and technical issues. Our summer courses are 1, 2 and 3 weeks in duration and are suitable for students of all levels - from beginners to advanced. Non-European students can enter into Spain on a normal tourist visa, valid for 3 months.

To participate in our summer photography courses, you must have your own digital camera. We only accept 6 students to each summer session to ensure that everyone gets the individual attention they need. For fashion and modelling, each student will participate in at least 2 photoshoots with highly professional models and staff that Costapix normally work with on the south coast of Spain.

Pontifical University of Salamanca
Courses / Programs
The department of Spanish as a foreign language of the Pontificial University of Salamanca offers a quality summer program in Spanish language and culture, covering all levels from beginner to advanced. Join our special summer program at the Pontificial University and experience Salamanca, situated in Castile-Leon, the region where the standard accent of Spanish is spoken. This is the perfect place to study Spanish. Salamanca is a beautiful city of 160,000 inhabitants in western Spain, 200 kilometres from Madrid. In 2002, the city was declared a UNESCO World Heritage City for its architectural and artistic wealth.

Our classrooms and facilities reflect our philosophy of teaching: pleasant and bright setting for small groups (12 students maximum), with multimedia equipment, a computer lab with connection to the internet and a room for showing films and documentaries. The School provides free internet access to its students.
Intensive Summer Spanish language and culture program:

Summer Course in Spanish Language and Culture, with excursions and cultural activities. The program includes four hours of class of Spanish Language and Culture a day (from 09:00 – 13:00 h), consisting of grammar & conversation as well as optional subjects (Spanish and Hispano-American literature, Spanish civilization and culture, Spanish for special purposes).

ArtsAbroad is an organization based near Washington, D.C. that provides study abroad summer programs for adults in fields such as music, dance, visual arts, design, theater, and film. Our Flamenco Dance or Guitar + Spanish Language program in Granada, Spain, is aimed at dance and guitar students. Flamenco experience is not necessary. This program includes Daily Flamenco and Spanish language lessons plus attendance at the International Festival of Music & Dance. A weekend trip to Nerja, a nearby beach town is also included.

Travel & Education (T&E) offers summer study abroad, Spanish immersion programs to high school / secondary school students at an accredited language academy in Santander on the beautiful north coast of Spain. Our mission is to create global-minded individuals through the superior instruction of language and culture, and Spanish is our expertise. T&E students can earn university / college credits and gain an academic advantage on their ACT/SAT scores, as studying a foreign language generally improves verbal scores.

The language academy in Santander is accredited by the Cervantes Institute for its high quality instruction in Spanish and other related fields.
