PlayWorks NYC is a pediatric therapy center in Rego Park, Queens that provides physical, occupational and speech and language therapy to children with special needs from infancy through to teenagers. We offer services in a professional, nurturing environment with highly qualified staff. We contract directly with the Department of Education, Early Intervention Agencies and accept private payment. PlayWorks mission is to serve children with special needs and serve as a resource for parents and professionals. PlayWorks was born out of a simple love of working with children with special needs and their families. We wanted to have a safe, comfortable, professional place for parents and children to come to for quality therapy. PlayWorks prides itself on offering speech, physical, and occupational therapy with the utmost professionalism in a warm, nurturing environment.

PlayWorks Inc. is a private practice of professionals offering physical, occupational and speech therapies that enhance our children's individual capabilities and foster their independence. Our licensed therapists provide services to children at our fun-inspired, state-of-the-art clinic in Rego Park, NYC and at schools across the Tri-State Area. We provide services to children ranging in age from babies, toddlers to young adults. Comprehensive assessments, customized intervention, family support and consultation services are available to our clients and the community.

Accreditations:
All PlayWorks therapists are licensed. We are approved by the NYS Department of Health to provide Early Intervention Services for children 0-3 years. We are also approved by the New York City Board of Education to provide Related Services for preschool (3-5 years) and school-age children (5 years and older).

Specialty Therapies include:

* Occupational Therapy:  Our Occupational Therapists help children with play, work, fine-motor and self-care activities to improve independent function. Sensory Integration is a specific therapeutic intervention that requires specific training

* Physical Therapy:  Our Physical Therapists facilitate a child's age-appropriate gross motor skills. Therapy focuses on improving muscle flexibility, muscle strength, balance and coordination, endurance, motor planning, motor control and body and safety awareness. Treatment regimes include: stretching, strengthening, gait training, balance and coordination training, sensory integration, and object manipulation skills. 

* Speech Therapy:  Our Speech / Language Pathologists help children with articulation, oral motor skills, feeding issues, language comprehension, and phonemic awareness. Our therapists also work with the child to improve their attention span, critical thinking, social and play skills.
