The university has partnerships with more than thirty universities all over the world, enabling students and researchers to increase their international experience through cooperation and exchange.

TU Delft offers some 40 English-language MSc programmes. The programme duration is two years. The first year comprises theoretical study, assignments and laboratory work. The second year is largely devoted to thesis work, which involves participating in one of the university's advanced research or design projects or taking an internship or research assignment within a company.

All education programmes encourage creative and independent thinking with a focus on problem solving. Our objective is to produce graduates who are critical independent thinkers so they later become engineers capable of independently solving problems. The curriculum focuses to a great extent on analysis and problem-solving in groups, and the writing of papers. During your study, guidance and assistance will be available at all times.

Museums & Botanic garden:

TU Delft Botanical garden
The botanical garden at TU Delft dates from 1917. The garden includes a park-like garden of trees, a glasshouse complex with tropical and subtropical plants, a herb garden and a central garden with a splendid collection of useful and ornamental plants. The garden has its own specialisation as part of the national collection of flora.

Delft Technology Museum
Delft Technology Museum is the museum of Delft University of Technology. It manages the university’s historical collections and provides insight into the history of technology.

Mineralogy-geology museum
The collection of the faculty of Civil Engineering and Geosciences includes around 200,000 geological items subdivided into dozens of separate collections. The oldest collections date from 1842 when the subjects of mineralogy, crystallography and geology were included in the study to become a mining engineer at the then Delft Academy (TU Delft).

Beijerinck en Kluyver archive
The loft in the building of the department of Biotechnology houses a large number of letters, manuscripts, drawings and microscopes of microbiologists Beijerinck en Kluyver. This 'museum' is not accessible for public, only visiting researchers can get a tour. Dr. Lesley Robertson, guardian of the museum, opens up a part of the collection on the internet.

Delft is a safe, attractive, and historic town with a vibrant student life: outdoor cafes and restaurants that match the student’s budget, fine cinemas. All easy to find and in walking distance. No other student city has so many active student, sport and cultural associations. As Delft is based in the urban west of the Netherlands (Randstad), cities like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague are all within easy reach. Just take one of the many trains, anytime, as they also run at night.

The country
The Netherlands (or Holland) is a relatively small country, neighbouring Germany, Belgium and across the North Sea the United Kingdom. With a population of over 16 million, it is one of the most densely populated countries in the world. Though the national language is Dutch, most adults speak good English and understand German and some French.

Roosevelt Academy (RA) is a small Liberal Arts & Sciences university college in the Netherlands. Founded jointly by Utrecht University and the Hogeschool Zeeland, RA is one of Utrecht University’s international honors colleges. Roosevelt Academy students are registered officially in Utrecht and receive their honors degree from this highly-acclaimed institution, one of the oldest in the Netherlands.

RA specializes in liberal arts and sciences undergraduate education, and students choose from 200 different courses in arts and humanities, science and social sciences leading to a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science honors degree. The language of instruction is English.

University College Utrecht

University College Utrecht (UCU) is the international honors college of Utrecht University (Shanghai ranking: best Dutch university) in the Netherlands. UCU specializes in liberal arts and sciences undergraduate education, and students choose from 200 different courses in humanities, science and social sciences leading to a Bachelor of Arts or a Bachelor of Science honors degree.

The UCU approach is personal: classes never exceed 25 students, and class participation is actively encouraged. The admissions process is highly selective: students are admitted on the basis of academic excellence, but an international focus, social engagement and extracurricular pursuits are of equal importance. All 700 students (40% international) live on campus in the historic city of Utrecht.
