The Language Club is a 26-year-old institution strongly committed to the language education. We are known for our quality teaching and communicative based methodology. Cultural activities are developed for students to interact with the environment, language and people. The Language Club offers a friendly multicultural environment where everyone is welcome to exchange experiences while learning a new language.

The Language Club adopts a communicative methodology. The courses are very interactive and grammar and vocabulary are learned in context. Class dynamics make use of simulation activities encouraging students’ language practice. In general, the courses cover the four language skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing. Aspects of Brazilian culture are also included in the course syllabus.

The Language Club customizes its course programs to the specific needs and characteristics of students and groups. We believe this has a strong positive effect on students’ motivation and on the language acquisition process.

The Language Club has significant experience in the area of teaching Portuguese as a foreign language. All teachers are native speakers and all of them have or are taking a Bachelor degree in Portuguese or related areas. Most teachers have had experience in teaching Portuguese as a foreign language overseas. Some of the countries our teachers have taught are: France, the U.S.A and Uruguay. All teachers have successfully accomplished an extensive preparation course and all of them frequently attend and prepare seminars to update, extend their knowledge and their cross-cultural sensitivity.

The Pedagogical Coordinator has a post-graduate qualification in “Teaching Portuguese as a Foreign Language” from Pontificia Universidade Católica - Rio de Janeiro and has 13 years of experience in the field.  She has represented the school in Conferences in Brazil and Uruguay.

The Language Club building has currently 9 classrooms on 2 floors, including 4 rooms with interactive whiteboards. All classrooms are equipped with air conditioning and sound systems. There is also a library available for the students. The school is a wi-fi zone, allowing students to use their own notebooks and smart technology. In addition, there are restroom facilities, a coffee lounge and a beautiful garden.
