Herzing College, located in the Toronto Eaton Centre in downtown Toronto, Ontario, provides accredited training programs in healthcare, business, technology, design and public safety. Since 1968, we have been educating students and providing them with marketable skills for the workplace, through our range of diploma, certificate and professional certification programs.

Healthcare Programs:
- Community Services Worker:
Herzing College offers a one-year college diploma that includes a two-month internship to gain work experience. Community Services Workers provide many types of assistance to people in the community, from determining eligibility for social assistance and health programs and counseling on child care to helping clients with physical and mental problems and those involved in drug and substance abuse.
- Medical Office Administrator:
This 10-month college diploma includes a 7-week internship to gain work experience. The Medical Office Administrator plays an important role in the medical office team. Medical office administrators perform administrative and clinical tasks to keep the offices and clinics of physicians, podiatrists, chiropractors, dentists, and optometrists running smoothly.
Business Programs:
- Business Administration:
This is a one-year diploma program includes a one-month internship to gain work experience. Our powerful college diploma provides a unique overview of business principles, practices, and operations with a focus on developing managerial skills.
Areas of study include accounting concepts and applications, business principles and management, computer business application software, marketing, sales and communication skills.
- Financial Services Representative:
This one-year college diploma prepares students to work in a variety of financial sectors and includes a two-month internship to gain work experience.
Herzing College has partnered with The Canadian Securities Institute, one of the leading educational institutions serving the financial services industry. The Investment Funds in Canada (IFC) certification exam for mutual fund licensing is offered in this diploma program, the most important designation to have to begin your career in the bank.
- Law Clerk:
This is a one year college diploma that prepares students to work as a Legal Assistant and / or Law Clerk. Students are taught legal principles, practices and procedures in the areas of Real Estate, Wills & Estates, Family Law, Corporate Law, Litigation in addition to legal office procedures.
Students will learn Teraview and PC Law and will use Quicklaw and eCarswell Lawsource online sources. Students will be prepared to write one or all of the four Law Clerk exams to become Certified.
- Paralegal:
This program, accredited by the Law Society of Upper Canada, prepares graduates to apply to the Law Society of Upper Canada to become licensed paralegals. Paralegals are non-lawyers providing legal services in specified areas of practice to the public for a fee. The type of work that a licensed paralegal can perform is limited by the Law Society and this program is restricted to those areas of law.
Graduates will be prepared to work in law offices, legal departments of any organization or open and run their own practice. Graduates should find employment opportunities with law firms, government offices, private industry, or as independent Paralegals.
Technology Programs:
- MCITP 2008 Certification:
This course prepares students to write the following four courses to become a Microsoft Certified Information Technology Professional:
- Exam 70–270: Installing, Configuring, and Administering Microsoft Windows XP Professional
- Exam 70–640: Windows 2008 Server Active Directory Configuration
- Exam 70–642: Windows Server 2008 Network Infrastructure Configuration
- Exam 70-646: Windows Server 2008 Administration
These certifications are part of our one year Network Systems Technology diploma program.
- Network Systems Technology:
Our program is in constant evolution from year to year as the ever-increasing changes in industry dictate changes to course content. Currently, students will acquire the competencies and skills needed to administer a network and offer efficient technical support to users as well as plan for future network growth in an enterprise–wide environment.
Through both theory classes and laboratory exercises, students will acquire the skills and competencies needed to install, configure and maintain computers, workstations and network operating systems such as Windows and LINUX install and administer networks and Internet / Extranet services such as Web servers and Electronic Mail. If you support a network, you have to support all aspects including the hardware. We’ve recognized that fact and our program includes a CompTIA approved course on computer hardware and troubleshooting.
Design Programs:
- 3D Animation:
At Herzing, you are introduced to what companies are searching for in talented artists. We use Maya which is an industry leading 3D program that has been used in some of the most famous feature films of all time such as "The Lord of the Rings".
Students are instructed in the art of storyboarding which has its roots in storytelling (the foundation of any movie or game). From there, the basics of modeling and animation are studied with hands on projects. As the student progresses, they are taught the art of advanced modeling, character rigging and animation.
- Computer Graphic Design:
This one-year college diploma includes a one-month internship to gain work experience. Computer Graphic Design students learn design fundamentals, lettering and typography, graphic and web design. This program is taught on 24" iMacs
Students create color composites and renderings and are introduced to using computer applications and sophisticated software as design tools. Students use these tools to create high quality layouts and designs for print and web. As students advance in the program, they are guided by their instructors in developing portfolios to show prospective employers.
- Web Design:
The objective of the Web Design program is to provide an integrated approach to website design by providing instruction in client-side Web site design techniques and website management procedures through converging theoretical concepts and practical applications.
Courses that develop this integrated approach to client-side Web site development include the study of the Internet and e-business concepts; Hypertext Markup Languages (HTML) and a scripting language such as JavaScript; Web graphic packages such as PhotoShop, Flash and Dreamweaver.
Public Safety Programs:
- Police Foundations:
A career in policing is primarily about working with people to ensure public safety through crime prevention and law enforcement. Police work requires the building of relationships in the community and sensitivity towards the needs of people from all races, cultures and backgrounds.
The Police Foundations Program maps to the Constable Selection System developed by the Ontario Ministry of Public Safety and Security. Applicants must be able to meet minimum vision / hearing / physical fitness requirements for local police services. Included in the Police Foundation program at Herzing is Canadian Firearms Safety Course and & Restricted Course.
