Advanced Visual Effects Diploma - 10 months:
This is a full-time accelerated program that covers television and feature film quality visual effects production, including 3D, compositing and live-action integration. Students should expect to put in a minimum of 40-60 hours per week, which includes 25 hours per week mandatory in-class time.

Our students work with the award-winning VFX Supervisor/Mentor, Mark Bénard, in a project-based learning environment, covering VFX pre-production and shooting, 3D for VFX and compositing. The program now includes a 8-week practicum in a local studio, so you gain industry mentorship and experience working in a pipeline before you even finish your schooling.

Course Content:
In the classroom and in the field, students complete a project-based curriculum modeled after real-world examples. There are assigned projects, using both 3D and compositing techniques which begin early in the course. We work primarily within Autodesk's Maya and The Foundry's NUKE, supplemented by other specialty software to provide more personalized exploratory options. During each week, students are also provided several lectures and demonstrations to further assist with the learning process.

During the courses and assigned projects, you will learn VFX techniques such as modeling, texturing, 3D cameras, lighting, UV unwrapping, rendering, shaders, projection-mapping, animating, rotoscoping, compositing, matting, keying, tracking, effects and colour correction. Weekly Industry Studies classes bring us together to view current media, breakdowns and techniques from real-world industry examples.
