Canterbury Christ Church University:
Canterbury campus is situated within a few minutes walk of the historic city centre. Close by are the ruins of the 6th century Abbey of St Augustine. The buildings of the campus occupy land where once there were orchards and domestic buildings serving the needs of the Abbey.
A world heritage site renowned for its magnificent cathedral and wealth of historic buildings, Canterbury is also a regional shopping centre with narrow, bustling streets where cafés, bars, restaurants and clubs make it ever popular with visitors and students alike.
The University also operates from several off-campus sites in and around Canterbury. Within the city centre, the Sidney Cooper Gallery hosts art exhibitions and provides teaching space for the Department of Art in an historic building originally designed for the renowned 19th century English artist Sidney Cooper as his studio and subsequently as an art school.
Augustine House, just outside the ancient city wall, is a substantial building currently undergoing a multi-million pound refurbishment. This exciting project will provide the University with a new learning centre integrating library and computing facilities. When completed, it will offer students access to information technology and learning resources to rival the best available.
Hall Place, an impressive 16th century country house in its own grounds on the outskirts of the city, is home to the University’s new Enterprise Centre. As a state of the art hub for business development and growth, the Hall Place Enterprise Centre is dedicated to providing individuals and local businesses with opportunities to enhance their expertise, to network locally, nationally and internationally and to access the University's rich and extensive academic resources.
Beyond Canterbury, the University now has four additional campuses throughout Kent:
Broadstairs is a new purpose-built facility located near the east Kent coastline of beautiful bays and sandy beaches offering study opportunities which include commercial music and digital media.
Salomons, near Tunbridge Wells, provides a number of postgraduate study programmes. Its historic buildings are situated in 36 acres of parkland near the popular spa town of Tunbridge Wells in west Kent.
Medway became our fourth campus in 2004, when Christ Church joined the Universities at Medway partnership, enabling us to deliver programmes in education, health and policing from a brand new building adjacent to the town's historic dockyard.
University Centre Folkestone is a partnership between the University of Greenwich and Canterbury Christ Church University. With investment from HEFCE, SEEDA and the Creative Foundation, a charitable trust established by Roger De Haan, Folkestone’s first university was opened in September 2007. It offers a wide range of programmes, including the performing arts, visual arts, and early years education, as well as business and enterprise.
