NYIT School of Education
Courses / Programs
New York Institute of Technology (NYIT) School of Education offers a range of Teacher and Administrator Education Degree & Certificate programs from our two main New York campuses (Old Westbury and Manhattan), and at several partnership sites in the New York metropolitan region. In addition, some courses and programs are offered online or using state-of-the-art videoconferencing.

The School was officially formed in 1991 and was built on a foundation of programs in teacher education and educational technology that existed at NYIT since the early 1970's. Today, it has grown to include preparatory and advanced professional study for P-12 teachers, school counselors, school building leaders, educational technologists and professional trainers.

In the past five years, more than 1,000 teachers, counselors, supervisors, and principals in the New York metro area have received their training from the NYIT School of Education and are now serving students in public and private schools.

Many of our programs can be taken fully on-line and lead to New York State initial certification. The School of Education at NYIT is accredited by the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education.
