Bachelor of Arts (BA) in International Relations Degree Program:
The program covers such areas as: Political science; History; International Law; International Law, Economics, globalization & development; Migration & refugees

All students seeking a BA degree in International relations are required to complete 36 credit hours within the department. This must include a course in Methods, a Research course (fulfilled by taking the Seminar, Senior Thesis, or a designated upper-division course), and the Senior Overview. Note that degree requirements are different for students electing an emphasis in Economics or Refugee Studies.

The required 36 credit hours (12 courses) must include the following:
- Introduction to International Politics
- One course from the following: Introduction to Comparative Politics; Politics in the Industrialized World;  The Politics of Development; International Political Economy
- One course from the following: Modern Europe; History of Russia: Since 1917; History of England: Twentieth Century; Modern Asia; Third World
- One course from the following: Diplomatic History; International Affairs; Conduct of Foreign Policy); Comparative Politics, or alternative
- Two courses from the following: The World System Since 1500; International Law; International Organizations: Structure and Political Conflict (INTL 2610 may be substituted); International Economics;  Research Requirement (to be taken in conjunction with a designated 3000-level or 4000-level course) Senior overview*
- With your advisor’s permission, one course from the following may be applied toward the required 36 credit hours: Economics of Development; Comparative Economic Problems; Global Journalism; Business Law: International; International Business

Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Media Communications Degree Program:

The Media communications program gives you a strong foundation in the major areas of media and communications, including: audio and video production; music recording; photography; journalism; newspaper production; advertising; graphic design

Required courses:
Introduction to Mass Communications; Introduction to Media Production; Introduction to Media Writing or

Portfolio Review:
As a student majoring in media communications, you must complete a portfolio of your work after you have completed the following courses: Introduction to Mass Communications; Introduction to Media Production; 6 credit hours of any introductory production courses; 3 credit hours of media theory courses

General Education Requirements:
A minimum of 36 credit hours must be taken within the selection of Liberal Arts and Sciences courses, with the following distribution:
