Practical Learning:

Photos of Business School LausanneThe focus on practical learning is led by a multidisciplinary faculty formed by experienced business professionals. Learning is an interactive experience in small classes up to 20 students (MBA) where participants and faculty are professional partners in high quality discussions of real business cases.

As a key part of the interactive classes, active student participation engaging students directly in the learning process is demanded. Participants are required to formulate, clearly express and defend their ideas as statements will be challenged by the faculty and other students. This means that instead of simply receiving information verbally and visually, students are required to actively participate, interact abd defend their ideas. BSL faculty encourage the shy to stand behind great ideas and teaches the extroverted to choose their words wisely if they want others to follow what they are saying.

Students in every course are judged on both how much they say and on how valuable their contribution is to the discussion. Assessment based on the constructive contribution of each individual - an evalution that is not only key to course grading but equally to the real-life business community.

International Diversity:

An international student body represented by more than 40 nationalities enhances cross-cultural perspectives and provides an appreciation for cultural diversity. Only by exploring different approaches, will innovative and creative solutions be found – so necessary in today’s international business arena.

Participants are challenged to move out of their “comfort zone” with an open mind and flexible attitude in order to competently solve problems and make informed and effective decisions. Small class sizes, with a balanced cultural mix, contribute to the interactive and participative educational environment.
