St. Benedict Elementary School (SBES), a Catholic educational community serving grades PreK-8, inspires and cultivates a balance of faith, academic excellence, and individual talents in a diverse, personalized setting. We are located on Chicago's north side near Western Ave, serving Roscoe Village, Irving Park, Avondale, Lakeview, DePaul and surrounding communities. For just over 100 years, St. Benedict has provided quality education, and continues to teach and encourage Catholic traditions.
We enjoy Full State of Illinois Recognition for non-public schools, as well as certification from the Office of Catholic Schools. We are a member of the National Catholic Education.
Our Philosophy:
The primary goal of St. Benedict Elementary School is to create a Catholic educational community, stressing the development of Christian character and leadership through a better understanding of the teachings and heritage of the Roman Catholic faith. As a school, we strive for excellence in education and develop the whole person—spiritually, intellectually, morally, socially, artistically and physically. At St. Benedict Elementary School, our amazing and dedicated teachers provide educational opportunities that employ the best methods. Child-Centered Catholic Education:
The school program is designed to provide maximum growth of each student. Students are challenged to develop mentally, spiritually, socially, emotionally and physically. Students are encouraged to discover their special talents and abilities. Faith development is encouraged through active participation in weekly Mass attendance and daily Religion classes. Parish priests and our religious education coordinator assist in sacramental preparation and instruction.
The children of St. Benedict Elementary School are separate and unique individuals, approaching the world of learning at various levels of development, natural ability and background. The teaching community addresses these levels through challenging opportunities for the students, stressing the curriculum that recognizes student body cultural diversity and incorporating a variety of teaching techniques and materials. Students are expected to take advantage of learning opportunities and to discover his/her unique God-given talents and abilities.
Student Clubs:
There are a number extracurricular activities and clubs that are offered to our students. Other Enrichment Programs offered: Technology Club, Mad Science Club, Spanish Club, Improv Comedy, Beads and American Girl Class.
Over the past years, St. Benedict eighth graders have been accepted into impressive high schools, including St. Benedict High School,Gordon Technical, St. Ignatius, Lane Technical, Lincoln Park, Loyola Academy, North Side College Prep, Amundsun, Mt. Carmel, Northtown, Notre Dame, St. Patrick, UIC College Preparatory, Walter Payton College Preparatory, Regina, Resurrection, St. Scholastica Academy, Von Steuben and Whitney Young.
St. Benedict High School graduates have been accepted into impressive universities, including but not limited to DePaul University, Northwestern University, University of Illinois and local North Park University.

Lincoln Park Preschool (LPP) is a private, early childhood program / day care center located on W. Belden Avenue, at Belden and Lincoln Park West in Chicago, Cook County, IL. We have another school, Lincoln Park Preparatory School, located at Germania and Clark Street – just south of North Avenue in the city. Our early childhood programs (for children ages 2 - 6 years) primary focus is the growth and well being of the child. We provide this best by having a warm, open, nurturing atmosphere that is conducive to learning.Our school is a place where children can develop self-confidence and build a commitment to learning. They take part in discovery-based activities that are developmentally appropriate. We provide a healthy balance between teacher-directed and child-directed activities.

Children's Garden Montessori is located in Oak Park, west of Chicago, Cook County, Illinois. It is a Montessori Pre-school & Kindergarten with daycare education programs for children ages 2 through to 6 years, of all races, religions and national origin. Children's Garden Montessori pre-school is a privately owned and operated school, chartered in Oak Park and licensed by the Department of Children and Family Services. We serve Oak Park, Melrose Park, Galewood, Montclare, Elmwood Park and surrounding communities. Children must be at least 2 yrs old before entry and can stay until they complete the Kindergarten Year. We employ both Montessori & Early Childhood Education trained teachers.
