St. Benedict Elementary School (SBES), a Catholic educational community serving grades PreK-8, inspires and cultivates a balance of faith, academic excellence, and individual talents in a diverse, personalized setting. We are located on Chicago's north side near Western Ave, serving Roscoe Village, Irving Park, Avondale, Lakeview, DePaul and surrounding communities. For just over 100 years, St. Benedict has provided quality education, and continues to teach and encourage Catholic traditions.
Catholic Education Programs for Pre-K through Grade 8:
St. Benedict Elementary School has a terrific professional development partnership with DePaul University, giving our teachers the opportunity to be leaders as well as life-long learners. The partnership gives our students the advantage of having DePaul's finest pre-service teachers assist in the classrooms, which lowers our already tight student-teacher ratio. Our amazing and dedicated teachers provide educational opportunities that employ the best methods.
This includes our Authentic Portfolio Assessment Program and cutting-edge technology. Students work across grade level
s with their Faith Buddies and other mentoring programs. In addition to our core classes, students receive Spanish, Art, Computers, Music and Religion.
When the school day is over, a whole new set of opportunities await, including scouts, clubs, sports, music, Student Council and more. Simply put, there is something for everyone after school. As a community, SBES is committed to service, both to our peers and to those less fortunate. In addition, we seek to enrich the educational experience of our students through extensive extracurricular offerings.
All this is provided in a safe, nurturing environment with faculty and staff committed to educating the whole child, challenging students to develop their God-given talents, honoring each other's gifts and diversity, creating a Christian community by sharing our gifts and serving the Lord and each other.
Athletics:
We strive to offer as much as we can to all the students at our school. Our kickball programs, which began at the beginning of 2007, are now offered to students in Kindergarten through to 5th grade. This is thanks to our parent volunteers who monitor 2 seperate intramural leagues. K-2 meet on Wednesdays after school for an hour and the 3-5 grades meet on Mondays after school for an hour.
We offer sports throughout the school year. Our fall sports include co-ed cross country and girls' volleyball. Our winter sports are 4th-8th grade boys and girls basktball and cheerleading for Kindergarten through to 8th grade. The sports offered in the spring are 4th-6th grade co-ed baseball, 7th and 8th grade boys baseball and 6th-8th grade girls softball, and we'll be offering 6th-8th grade boys volleyball that will not interfere with the baseball season!

We also offer fun-packed summer camps with lots of activities and learning games!

The Paintbrush, opened in 2005, is a children's art studio owned by sisters Melanie and Mindy Apel in Lakeview on the North Side of Chicago, Cook County, IL. At The Paintbrush, kids do more than just paint. Starting at 18 months old, kids learn about famous artists, listen to music and create their own inspired works of art and projects inspired by the artists' styles. The Paintbrush offers a selection of classes geared to different ages along with workshops and summer camp. Classes are ongoing, so kids can join anytime.
The mission of The Paintbrush is to introduce young children to the wonderful world of art. The main goal is to teach kids to love art and have an understanding of the artists they study and whose works inspire their own creations.

Delphi Academy of Chicago is an independent, co-educational, non-sectarian day school that offers a preschool through to eighth grade program. The campus is located in Lombard, a suburb just 30 miles west of Chicago. Delphi Academy of Chicago is one of several schools in the Delphi Schools Network, a group of independent schools sharing uniquely developed curriculum and teaching methods. Children may be enrolled as soon as potty trained. Academics focus on providing students with a solid grounding in the basics, a rich and challenging hands-on curriculum, and the ability to study purposefully and independently.The Delphi program includes a fully rounded curriculum available for all age levels. The Russian School of Mathematics (RSM) was created in Boston 15 years ago. Today, RSM has over 6,000 students in more than a dozen branches located in 5 states. This fall, we are very excited to be opening a Russian School of Mathematics in Naperville, IL, just 30 miles west of Chicago. RSM provides a unique, award-winning after-school mathematics enrichment program, based on the best practices of advanced math schools in Russia and Europe and adapted to the U.S. educational environment. The Einstein Academy is a school for academically talented students in grades Pre-Kindergarten through to High School located in Elgin, a suburb approximately 40 miles north-west of Chicago in Kane County in north-eastern Illinois, close to Naperville and Aurora (One block south of I-90 and Route 31 on Davis Road in Elgin). Our accelerated curriculum is taught one year in advance, but our children our encouraged to learn at the level that most challenges their minds.
