Eastside College Preparatory School, Palo Alto:
Eastside College Preparatory School is an independent, co-educational, college preparatory school providing middle school & high school education in East Palo Alto in San Mateo County, CA. Our school serves students from populations that are historically under-represented in higher education. We serve families throughout the Palo Alto, Redwood and Menlo Park communities. In between are classes, lunch, more classes, and afternoon tutorial. Students also enjoy a wide choice of electives, clubs, and sports. A spirit of enthusiasm and camaraderie pervades the campus – students work hard during the extended school day, but they also have fun.

This accreditation process evaluates every aspect of the institution, from academics and adherence to the school's vision to the daily operations and financial health of the school.

At Eastside College Preparatory School, we are committed to opening new doors for students historically under-represented in higher education. We offer a culture of learning that supports the potential of every student to enter and succeed in a four-year college and beyond. Eastside students who are the first in their families to go to college create a ripple effect, changing their own lives, the lives of their families, and the life of their community.

* Our challenging and engaging curriculum enables students to discover their intellectual strengths, sharpen their academic skills, and embrace new opportunities.

Our Faculty:
At the cornerstone of Eastside's program is our gifted faculty, whose talents, energy, and dedication play a vital role in our students' success. In the 2008-2009 academic year, Eastside has 39 faculty members, 21 full-time and 18 part-time. Our faculty members all hold bachelor's degrees; 23 hold master's degrees, 2 are PhDs.
The residence hall offers students an opportunity to both live and learn at Eastside. Students think of the residence hall as their “home away from home” and their fellow boarders, student resident advisors and resident faculty as part of their extended families. Two students share a room, and each evening all students gather in the lounges for evening study sessions and a variety of activities, from house meetings to movies, game nights, community service and special celebrations. Weekend programs have included an Iron Chef competition, a day at the Santa Cruz Boardwalk, a ski trip to Lake Tahoe and an afternoon of team-building activities at City Beach in San Jose.
Eastside students are very active on campus and in the community, including creating and supporting clubs around their special interests. These include:
* Student Council
* Investment Club
* Poetry Club
* Law Club
Athletics:
Our students can take part in a wide range of sports including vbasketball, volleyball, soccer. For both players and fans, the Eastside athletic program is a source of great pride – providing lots of opportunities for our students, faculty, and friends to come together and cheer for Eastside.
Community Service:
Community Service has become an integral part of an Eastside education, with school-wide community service events such as the annual California Coastal Cleanup Day and local tree planting with Canopy.
