TESOL Diploma Course:
The TESOL Diploma is designed for students who want to teach English to speakers of other languages and is the largest teacher-training program of its kind in western Canada. It is comprised of ten core courses (including a teaching internship) as well as elective options. This program prepares graduates to teach from literacy to university level English language. Students can plan to teach internationally or at post-secondary educational institutions, community agencies, or international schools in Canada.
TEFL Certificate Course:
The TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certificate is designed primarily for people who are planning to teach English through volunteer organizations or are going overseas and may have an opportunity to teach English
Provincial Instructor Diploma Program:
The BC Provincial Instructor Diploma Program provides participants with an excellent opportunity to develop and refine their skills, concepts, and best practices to become an adult educator. The PIDP serves a diverse community of current and future adult educators by providing relevant courses that prepare them for:
• Entry into employment
• Career advancement
• Higher level education
• Participation in the formal and non-formal adult education community
The PIDP provides adult educators with the knowledge and skills needed to design, develop, manage and evaluate the instruction of adults in post-secondary education, business, industry and non-traditional adult learning environments. It also provides instructors with an accredited development program leading to diplomas and degrees at Vancouver Community College and other institutions.
