StudyCELTA provides Cambridge University teacher training courses at Homerton College which is part of the University of Cambridge. We offer the internationally-recognised CELTA (Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults) and Delta qualification. Our full-time courses are available year-round.

You will get hands-on teaching experience and the tools you need to be a successful teacher to adults of all levels. 

This course is designed for those who wish to start a career teaching English to adults, but have no previous teaching experience. It is also ideal for those who do have some experience, but lack formal training or a qualification. As it is recognised by the British Curriculum Authority as a Level 5 Qualification, it follows an authorised syllabus.

The course timetable is divided into two closely related parts- methods and language analysis.
Course Content:
- Language analysis and awareness
- Learners and teachers, and the teaching and learning context
- Language skills: reading, listening, speaking and writing
- Developing teaching skills and professionalism
- Planning and resources for different contexts

Teaching Practice:The observation of practising teachers is an intrinsic part of the course. In addition, you will have daily teaching practice where groups of up to six trainees work with small classes and gain experience in teaching English at different levels. After each teaching practice session, there is a feedback in the group about the day's lesson. 

- DELTA Diploma Course Modules:
If you would like to further your career as an English language teacher and apply for more senior ELT posts (e.g. Director of Studies, Head of Department positions), you will find that the Delta qualification is invariably required. Designed for experienced English teachers, the Cambridge Delta is an internationally-recognised qualification.

The Delta course content places great emphasis on the integration of a thorough understanding of learning theories and language systems with practical classroom approaches.  It provides you with unique opportunities for practical, effective classroom training combined with professional education in the underlying principles and theories of language and language learning.

• St Brelade’s College is located on the British island of Jersey in the Channel Islands, approximately 20 miles off the French coast and 80 miles south of England.

• We are accredited by the British Council and are a member of English UK, along with being a validated course provider of the Trinity College London Cert. TESOL.
