The Italian Cultural Center, Chicago, IL:
The Italian Cultural Center, a non-profit organization, sponsors Italian language classes in Chicago, IL for Adults and Children. The Center is ideally and centrally located in the heart of many adjacent Italian communities and also near O'Hare International Airport. The building is located two blocks east of Mannheim Road (Route 45) and two blocks south of North Avenue (Route 64).
Adult Italian Class Descriptions
BEGINNING ITALIAN
This course offers the basic of Italian grammar, some vocabulary and proper pronunciation. In this class, simple conversation will be taught and you will be presented with many of Italy's cultural aspects. Grammar coverage includes: singular and plural nouns, articles, adjectives, prepositions, present tense of regular and irregular verbs, reflexive verbs and present perfect.
INTERMEDIATE ITALIAN
This course reinforces your basic knowledge of Italian language and grammar. You will also improve your vocabulary, pronunciation and listening skills through the practice of new expressions, phrases, and dialogues. Grammar coverage includes: reflexives with present perfect, imperfect, gerund, adverbs and past descriptive.
ADVANCED ITALIAN
This course covers more advanced Italian grammar, so the student can read, write and converse on a higher level. Other activities that this class offers include video, short reading and cultural events. Grammar coverage includes: conditional, simple future, expression with the impersonal, comparative, and superlative.
ADVANCED CONVERSATIONAL ITALIAN (THE FUN AND EASY WAY)
Students will build conversation skills through focus on interactive class exercises and participation in local cultural events. The class will focus on various themes, for example restaurant, transportation, shopping and many more. The teaching style is based on the various media such as, magazines, television, and film, etc.
Children's Italian Class Descriptions
Students in the exploratory level build their Italian vocabulary with fairy tales like Pinocchio, Il Brutto Anatroccolo (The Ugly Duckling) and I Tre Porcellini (The Three Little Pigs).
Students in higher levels are learning the language and culture with the aid of textbooks, handouts, videos, and songs.
All levels are exposed to memorable cultural experiences. During the holiday season children learn Italian holiday songs and Christmas legend of "La Befana". For "Carnevale" the Italian Mardi Gras, students learn the origin of the different Venetian masks and then make their own. They are also exposed to imaginary trips to Italy, exploring ancient monuments, churches and city squares.
Another memorable experience for the children is learning the Italian folk dance "La Tarantella".

Spanish Language Center offers group, private and corporate Spanish classes for all levels at 6 locations in the Chicago Metro Area. Classes can be held at our schools in The Loop (Downtown), Lakeview (North Side); Palatine (Northwestern Suburbs); Evanston; Naperville, or Hinsdale.Our classes are available year-round, and students may enroll at any time. Private or semi-private classes may start immediately, while group class schedules for Intro, Beginner, Intermediate or Advanced levels are dependent on location.
Spanish classes may meet weekly (weekdays or weekend) or be intensive weekend and week-long for increased language exposure.

The Japan America Society of Chicago, located in the Chicago Loop, Illinois, is a not-for-profit, nonpartisan, nonpolitical association offering 8 levels of Japanese language courses.
