English Language Courses:

Our intensive English language courses are offered year-round for adults of all levels from beginner to advanced. On the first day of your course, in consultation with the program director, a detailed plan is made outlining your learning goals and the best way to achieve them. To ensure that your objectives are met, weekly individual meetings with a teacher provide regular assessment of your progress and an opportunity to track your achievements.

Our dedicated teachers make sure that you have the opportunity to learn and practice the English as a Foreign or Second Language skills most essential to you, whether you need English for your job or travel or both. New intensive courses begin every week.

- Combination English Language Courses:
Our combination intensive courses feature one-to-one and mini-group lessons. Most of our students choose the combination course because they want a mix of mini-group classes and private lessons. The morning mini-group classes (maximum of 4 students with 1 teacher) provide a lot of fun interaction and lively conversation practice and help keep you motivated. The private lessons in the afternoon allow you to focus on the skills most essential to you.

- Private English Language Courses:
Our private intensive courses offer fully customized, private instruction. The private course is most suitable for those who prefer a completely customized course focused on a specific topic such as business communication, TOEFL preparation, or advanced writing skills.

- Online English Language Lessons (via the internet):
English lessons in conversation and / or writing. All you need is a telephone and a computer with an internet connection. Acadia Center’s online courses are a convenient, affordable, and effective way to improve your English.

Classes With A Difference:
Our experienced, friendly teachers create a lively, challenging learning environment that allows you to make maximum progress with both your spoken and written English. During your course, you will learn the most useful vocabulary, grammar, and pronunciation skills in both everyday and business conversation, and you will master the most common expressions and structures used in email correspondence, reports, and presentations.

Our study center is equipped with computers with free internet access, DVD and CD players, and a library of audio books, films, and language learning books. Offered all year round and for any length of time, the courses are ideal for professionals, executives, and adult students at any level – beginning, intermediate, or advanced – who would like to make rapid progress with their English, while at the same time enjoying the hospitality and tranquility of a small New England town.

Excursions and Activities:
The mountains, rivers, ocean, and beaches of the Maine coast are ideal for outdoor activities of all kinds, including hiking, biking, swimming, sailing, kayaking, tennis, golf, and fishing. Borrow one of our bicycles and follow the bike path to the ocean. All students have free admission to a state-of-the-art gym, swimming pool, indoor running track, and fitness center. 

In winter, enjoy snowshoeing, Nordic skiing, and Alpine skiing at the ski mountain just 10 minutes from Acadia Center. Camden also offers charming oceanside restaurants, art galleries, shops, and boutiques. Two afternoons per week students and teachers take an excursion together to places of interest in the area.
