Purley English Language College:
Established in 1928 and situated in the South London town of Purley, in Surrey, South East England (less than 25 minutes from central London) Purley English Language College is one of the oldest specialist schools of its kind in the United Kingdom. We offer a wide range of English language courses from Intensive and Business English to Examination courses for all ages and to all nationalities. We also teach a variety of other languages. Classes are always small (maximum size is 12 - 15 at peak - average 8) to ensure each student receives personal attention. Purley English Language College is accredited by the British Council and is a member of English UK. We look forward to welcoming you!
The college is in a beautiful historic building with pleasant gardens to the front and rear for relaxing with friends at break times. The spacious building has plenty of classrooms, a communal area with refreshments, free internet access and private study areas.
The College is situated in the centre of Purley, a pleasant residential town in the county of Surrey, on the south side of London approximately 12 miles from the heart of London. The College is very close to Purley railway station from where there is a frequent train service to London. The journey takes about 20 minutes. The College is located directly opposite a superstore, Tesco, on a main road.

Getting to Purley from Gatwick Airport:
There is a train direct to Purley taking about 25 minutes.
Take train to Purley (usually via East Croydon). Journey time 25 minutes
Getting to Purley from Heathrow Airport:
Students should travel by bus or underground to Victoria Station and from there by train direct to Purley.
Coach:
Those who travel by coach to London should take the train to Purley from London's Victoria Station. From Victoria coach station, it is just 5 minutes' walk to Victoria railway station (from platform 16 to 19).

From Heathrow Airport:
By bus: Take bus number X26, get off at East Croydon train station, then take bus 466 to Purley Tesco. College directly opposite bus stop. Journey time approx 1.5 hours
By underground/train: Take the Piccadilly Line to Hammersmith; change to District Line to Victoria, then train to Purley. Journey time approx 1.5 hours
From Gatwick Airport:
Take train to Purley (usually via East Croydon). Journey time 35 minutes
From Stansted Airport:
Take coach or bus to Victoria (in London), then train to Purley. Journey time 2 hours.
From Luton Airport:
Take coach/bus number 757 to Victoria, then train to Purley. Journey time 2.5 hours.
*Note it may be possible to get much cheaper bus/coach tickets if you book online, in advance.
How to travel by road from outside London:
Turn off the circular motorway M25 at Junction 7 onto the M23/A23 following signs to Croydon. Follow this road (north). The college is approximately 15 minutes’ drive on the left.
