Academic Summer Limited: With three locations across England, Academic Summer provides residential academic summer school programs in July and August for students ages 13-18. We run quality International Baccalaureate, GCSE and A-level preparation and revision courses, and welcome both British and international students. For summer 2013, Academic Summer will be located at Cambridge Tutors College in London; Sidcot School near Bristol; and Liverpool College in Liverpool.
Residential Academic Summer School Programmes for UK & International Students: Academic Seniors Programme - Suitable for students ages 13 to 18 studying towards the following:

Exam Preparation: The following skills will be practised in preparation for either IELTS or City & Guilds ESOL examinations. The topics chosen will complement others areas in the curriculum; in particular, the written work will be on topics relevant to wider issues in society from the Theory of Knowledge module.
Experimental Sciences: In keeping with the CLIL spirit of the course, the science options aim not only to give students a foundation in the subject areas but also in their lexis and language patterns.
Biology: - Microscopy - Simple Maths - Basic Chemistry as it relates to Biology (bonds etc) - Natural History / classification / diversity and cell biology - The use of experimental apparatus
Physics: - Forces and Motion (to include vectors resolution and components) - Electricity (Kirchoffs laws at a basic level)

Mathematics: The following topics are covered in the Mathematics option. These topics are common areas where international students have gaps and a good foundation will help the students when they go on to study the IB Diploma or A levels:

Individuals and Societies: The humanities curriculum aims to benefit from the international nature of the student body and encourages the students to explore these concepts in the light of the locality of the school and their own cultures and experience.

ISSOS, Summer School 2026 at St Andrews & Cambridge Universities

• ISSOS offers summer school programs for international students aged between 13 - 18 years of age in July and August in St. Andrews University.
• St Andrews is situated on the beautiful east coast of Scotland, approximately 50 miles (80km) north-east of Edinburgh and 80 miles (130 km) north-east of Glasgow. We also run a summer school in Cambridge, England.
