urSwim:
Based in Setauket, NY, urSwim is New York's only swim school that comes to you, serving all of Long Island and Manhattan. We offer private, semi-private and group lessons year-round in the convenience of our clients pools. Additionally, we provide water aerobics and lifeguarding services for both residential and corporate events. We are committed to reaching every pool from Manhattan to Montauk. urSwim instructors will teach at any pool: yours, grandma’s, a friendly neighbor’s, a community pool, etc. Our office will note your desired day(s) / times and do our absolute best to accommodate the lesson time you desire.

Swim Classes:

- Private Swimming Lessons
:  
This includes FIVE 30-minute lessons in the convenience of your own pool. This is our true one-to-one swim lesson. Our instructors are able to tailor the lesson to the skills and comfort of the swimmer.

- Semi-Private Swimming Lessons
:
This includes FIVE 45-minute lessons. Semi-private lessons have a 2-to-1 student/teacher ratio. This is great for siblings, friends, or neighbors with swimmers of the same ability and age.

- Group Swimming Lessons:  
This includes FIVE 45-minute lessons. This swimpack works great for swimmers of the same ability and age. This is a fun way to swim with friends. Our groups are limited to either 3 or 4 swimmers to ensure the highest quality lesson.

Little Swimmer's Programs:


- Baby and Me (6 to 18 months)
:  Have some fun with your baby in the water! Our swim Gurus focus on getting you and your baby comfortable in the water. Our primary goal is water safety skills including an introduction to floating, submersion, bubbles, and water play.

- Anchovies (18 months to 3):  This is for children who have had limited experience in the water. When you’re an Anchovy our focus is teaching water safety. Anchovies learn how to place their face in the water, do supported front and back floats, and how to enter the water independently. Anchovies are also introduced to the flutter kick and front crawl arms.

- Sea Turtles (3-5 years old):  This level is for children who have had some expPhoto of Swim Classes in the New York areaerience in the water. Sea Turtles are instructed in front crawl coordination, unsupported front and back floats, unsupported front and back glides, and underwater swimming.

- Penguins (4-7 years old):  Instructors focus on refining the skills taught at the Sea Turtle level. Penguins are instructed in front and back crawl endurance (1 pool-length), breaststroke kick, elementary backstroke, treading, retrieving objects in shallow water, and an introduction to diving.

- Dolphins (6-10 years old):  Skills learned at the Penguin level are refined. Dolphins practice endurance in front and back crawl (2-4 pool-lengths), standing dives, scissor and dolphin kicks, treading water for an extended period of time and are introduced to the breaststroke and the butterfly stroke.

- Sharks (8-12 years old):  Our instructors refine skills learned at the Dolphin level. Swimmers practice increasing their endurance in front and back crawl (4-8 lengths of pool). Swimmers learn the sidestroke and are introduced to butterfly coordination, surface dives, and flip turns.

Big Swimmer's Programs:
Swimming is a physical activity that can be learned or improved at any age! These levels are recommended for ages 10 through adult. Our instructors will integrate more swimming techniques and encourage increased endurance within these levels.

- Beginner:  The primary goal of our swimming Gurus at this level is to help swimmers gain water confidence and learn essential skills such as front and back floats, glides, introduction to the front and back crawl, treading, as well as working on general endurance.

- Novice:  At this level swimmers develop an increased confidenceImage of Swim Classes in the New York area with the front and back crawl as well as strengthened endurance (2-4 lengths of pool). Novices are introduced to the breaststroke, the butterfly, the sidestroke, diving and open turns. Mastery of treading water and retrieving underwater objects is acquired.

- Intermediate:  Intermediates perfect their front and back crawl technique and endurance (2-8 lengths of pool). They also learn the breaststroke, the butterfly, and are introduced to Individual Medley. The focus here is on technique and speed.

- Advanced:  The advanced swimmer works to perfect all her strokes: the front crawl, the back crawl, the breaststroke, the butterfly, and the sidestroke. Gurus bring it up a notch, and increase the endurance (8-20 lengths of pool) and improve the swimmer’s technique. This is ideal for swimmers considering competitive swimming.

- Master:  This is for the competitive swimmer. Our Gurus will run swim drills to perfect the Master’s tecPhotos of urSwimhnique and speed. Make sure you’re ready for your next swim meet! Sets are designed to increase endurance and the agility of the swimmer. Most sets are timed to ensure that the swimmer is performing at their very best level. Master lessons are taught by Gurus who have personally competed at high levels of competition.

At urSwim we provide lifeguarding services for all your summer events. Keep your pools safe and have an American Red Cross certified lifeguard keep an eye on all your guests.

BlueStamp Engineering (BSE) is a hands-on summer engineering program for high school students that takes place in New York City, Houston TX, and San Francisco CA. Designed by industry professionals, this 6-week program aims to to show high school students the world of engineering first-hand. Our goal is to teach how to build devices that students are passionate about and show them that creating things is a blast!

Students build an individual project from concept to prototype under the supervision of an experienced engineering staff. They will complete a working prototype, full engineering documentation, and a webpage which all help showcase their abilities during college/job applications and interviews. Example projects include solar powered phones, wind turbines, advanced lighting systems, and robotics. Projects can be selected from over 100 BSE suggestions, or students can suggest their own project.

While the main focus of the program is on completing projects, it is supplemented with guest speakers, brief lectures, an entrepreneurship curriculum, and a Maker Faire exhibit where possible. These extra aspects to the program show students what a career in engineering is really like, and the diverse opportunities such a career offers.
- 6-week Summer engineering camp for high school students in New York, San Francisco or Houston. Students create a project that they love under the supervision of experienced engineers! Classes meet for 4 hours per day, 5 days per week.

Alyssa's Aquatics founder Alyssa Klepper, is an American Red Cross certified Water Safety Instructor with over 5 years experience offering swimming lessons along the Eastern Long Island, and the Hamptons regions of New York State. Alyssa will travel to your pool for group or private lessons including Parent-Child-Aquatics, Preschool Aquatics, Learn-to-Swim Levels 1-6, and Safety Training for Swim Coaches, all based off of the American Red Cross Guidelines. All ages and skill levels welcome!

James Cha is a swim coach offering private and group swimming lessons to children, teenagers and adults at the heart of Battery Park City in the Manhattan area of New York City.

He has affiliations with Tribeca Park Swim and Health Club, and other swim clubs in the Greater Manhattan area. James is an American Red Cross certified water safety instructor, certified lifeguard, former competitive swimmer and coach at United Stated sports camps. He has a decade of experience teaching children as young as 18 months old to the adult levels.
