Summer Math Camps in the San Francisco Bay Area, CA

Summer Math Camp:
Classic Math School is a nonprofit organization located in Fremont, Alameda County CA. We offer a Summer Math Camp which is an extension of the Classic Math School Program (designed for promoting Math study among school children in the response to broadening concerns regarding the situation with math education). Our Fremont location serves East Bay, Milpitas, and east San Jose. We are also providing our summer math camp at our Palo Alto location, Santa Clara County which serves Peninsula and South Bay.

Our mission is to create a system of Math Education parallel and supplementary to the public education. Primarily we target mathematically gifted children who will thrive in the challenging learning environment; however, we have several options for children of all ages and abilities, who will definitely benefit from the small class setting and systematic approach to Math.

What is our Educational Philosophy?
Our school is an essential supplement to the existing educational system, not its denial. Although our courses partly overlap ordinary school Math programs, they increase the scope and depth of the study of Mathematical topics. We are proud to state that unlike most schools our school provides a systematic Math education of full value and considers Mathematics as an integrated discipline. We see Mathematics as an excellent and universal instrument to boost our students’ critical thinking skills and make them into independent life-long learners.

Quality Education:
The courses cover a great deal of material and place emphasis on active learning and putting knowledge to use in independent and creative ways. The student to teacher ratio in classes is very low, allowing considerable opportunities for individualized instruction and attention. Our instructors have expertise in their disciplines and come from a variety of professional backgrounds and educational settings.

Our Math programs are designed to challenge but not overwhelm. While it covers a great deal of material, emphasis is placed on active learning, developing abilities to think and reason independently and clearly by engaging in Math polemics. Students are encouraged to present their own analysis of a Math concept or problem, receiving critical feedback from both teacher and peers. We strongly believe that this kind of learning is a great pleasure and fun by itself as well as a great deal of work

Summer Math Camp (all ages):
We have created a unique well-balanced Math-centered curriculum in our summer math camps which include:

- Half Day Camp (8:30 am - 1:30 pm)
- Optional Afternoon Extension (1:30 pm - 4:30 pm)
- Full Day Program (8.30 am - 4.30 pm)

* Classes include: Math, Science, English (Critical Thinking), Art (Hands-on Geometry) and SAT I Prep course (for qualified 6th graders and Junior High School students) and new Geometry and Algebra crash courses.

Additional Services:
- Early arrival facility (7.45 am - 8.30 am)
- Late leave facility (4.30 pm - 5.15 pm)

All of the classes permit students to work at a challenging pace, to explore topics in depth, and to study subjects and develop skills that students their age often do not have the opportunity to pursue. Summer programs gives them a better picture of their own academic abilities and potential, help them to develop better work and study habits, and refine their educational goals. In this regard, all courses enhance and broaden the students’ overall educational experiences and sharpen their academic skills.
