Cabarete Language Institute (CLI) provides high-quality language instruction in the heart of Cabarete, Dominican Republic. Our experienced and certified language teachers create a dynamic and challenging language experience that will help you meet your language goals. All of our private and small group classes are personalized, interactive, and practical. We are experts at customizing language courses for everyone, including students, business and nonprofit professionals, international development volunteers, families, and water sports enthusiasts. Come to CLI and study Spanish, French or English, and you will soon be practicing your new language skills with friendly locals and international expats who make Cabarete the coolest beach town in the Caribbean.
CLI courses balance theory with practice and place emphasis on oral communication. Our certified language teachers are experts in customizing courses for everyone, and use a variety of innovative instructional techniques to meet students' needs. Ranging from interactive games to creative homework, these techniques are based on the best methods of language acquisition and have been refined in-house by CLI over the years.
Spanish Intensive Group
Our Spanish Intensive Group course is an immersion course. The course meets Monday through Friday from 10am to 1pm. The course begins every Monday, and students may enroll in weekly increments. Prior to the start of your course, CLI will assess your level and place you appropriately in one of our group courses, ranging from beginner to advanced. Groups are small, with a course maximum of five students.
Private Spanish Course
Our private course is custom designed to fit your needs, interests, and schedule. In this course, you work one-on-one with your instructor, which provides you with the opportunity to speak more often than in a group course. In addition, the instructor is able to tailor the course to help you meet your specific language goals, while teaching at the optimal pace for you.
Semi-Private
Our semi-private course is designed to provide two family members or friends with the opportunity to study together. The course is similar to a private course in that it is custom designed to fit the needs, interests, and schedule of the duo.

The Instituto Intercultural del Caribe (IIC), founded in 1994, is the Spanish Department of the Language & Culture Institute EDASE. With 2 schools, 15 years in business, and more than 60 partners worldwide it is one of the largest institutes for second language courses in the Dominican Republic located on the island of Hispaniola, part of the Greater Antilles archipelago in the Caribbean region. ALPI Spanish School

ALPI's Language School has been hosting university study-abroad programs since 2003, and offers a variety of travel-language study programs in the Dominican Republic. Intensive Spanish, Medical Spanish and TEFL are available. All programs include living accommodations in a Dominican homestay or private apartment. You will "live" a slice of Dominican life.Weekly social outings and activities organized by ALPI take place around the city. The island's most stunning beaches are within one hour's drive and the bustling capital is an hour and a half bus ride to the south. Guided excursions offered include a visit to surrounding mountains, waterfalls, museums, beaches, as well as historical and cultural points of interest.
Homestay living accommodations will make you a member of the host's family and include you in family get-togethers and outings. ALPI's various programs immerse participants in the culture of the Spanish-speaking Caribbean. Classes take place inside and outside the classroom with frequent outings.
