Education Programs:

While pursuing a rigorous college preparatory curriculum Drew students take part in integrative, hands-on and experiential learning to connect what happens in the classroom with the world beyond our doors. .

* Through the unique DEALL (Drew Education for Active Lifelong Learning) program, students spend a week pursuing academic interests in the real world, through trips, community service, career exploration and more.

* Core subjects include English, math, science, socíal science, art, music, drama, athletics and languages including French, Spanish, Mandarin Chinese and Sign Language.

Faculty:

The Drew faculty is a highly qualified and dynamic group of educators. The average years of teaching experience for full-time faculty is 14 years, and nearly three out of every four faculty members hold a graduate degree. As a result, Drew students get the highest quality of education possible from teachers experienced in creating challenging and creative curriculums. And with an 8 to 1 student-to-faculty ratio, students at Drew get more time with their teachers than they would in larger classrooms.

Co-Curricular & Experiential Learning:

Photo of Private High School in San Francisco Drew’s Global Affairs Initiative (GAIA) is a program created to help Drew students recognize their place as citizens of a larger global community. Throughout the school year, special events and speakers will focus on current issues such as global warming and nuclear proliferation. In the summer months, students have the option to take part in an evolving program in Africa, serving in and becoming part of a small community.

Drew Education for Active Lifelong Learning (DEALL)
:
The purpose of DEALL (Drew Education for Active Lifetime Learning) is to expose students to experiences that are educational, broadening and enjoyable. The “DEALL Days” offerings include a variety of experiences ranging from adventure, outdoor activities, trips, intellectual pursuits, community service, career exploration, cooking, art programs and more. 2008 DEALL days included an exchange with students in Quebec, working with Habitat for Humanity in Mississippi, sailing on the San Francisco Bay, kayaking in Baja, community service, and the creation of a Drew Dessert Cafe. Friday Electives:
Friday electives occur every week and include fine and performing arts, sports and fitness, social/political activities, and academic enrichment. Drew students are required to take two electives every semester. The Senior Project:
Senior Project is a three-week program in which our seniors conclude their high school years with individual projects, supported by a faculty member and an outside mentor. The Senior Project allows each student a chance to learn with passion in the real world. Community Service:

Community Service is an integral component of the educational and social experience of each Drew student. Drew students are involved in such worthwhile projects as food and clothing drives, tutoring, fundraising and volunteering in the Bay Area. Getting our students to volunteer in their own community begins to create a life-long passion for serving people in need. And sending our students around the city, wearing their DREW Community Service t-shirts, shows the various San Francisco nonprofit organizations for whom we work that Drew students care deeply about their community.

Interscholastic Sports:

Drew is a member of the Bay Counties League-West, which includes many of the other independent schools in the Bay Area. Drew fields interscholastic teams each season.

Teddy Bear Tymes Child Care Center is centrally located in San Bernardino in the Riverside-San Bernardino Metropolitan Area. We offer infants, preschool and kindergarten programs for children aged 6 weeks to 7 years. We are a non-profit corporation established in 1987 by San Bernardino City employees, San Bernardino County employees and CA state employees.

Teddy Bear Tymes provides advanced training in infant-toddler care through our infant / toddler care program which is sponsored by the CA Dept. of Education. Our preschool curriculum is matched to the CA State preschool learning foundations daily, and our kindergarten classes meet state and local school district standards in all curriculum areas. All Teddy Bear Tymes staff are certified and have been fingerprinted and cleared through the Dept. of Justice. They are trained in CPR and First Aid and are registered with community care licensing.

Teddy Bear Tymes Child Care Center serves breakfast, lunch and snack, included in tuition price. All meals are home-cooked and meet Federal Dept. of Agriculture nutritional guidelines for young children. (No “junk” food) We can feed your infant, too. Formula and home-made baby food provided.

Small Fry Dance Club
Courses / Programs
Small Fry Dance Club offers a preschool dance program in Foster City in San Mateo County, CA. Our dance program is designed to give young students a survey style class that covers basics in tap, ballet, jazz, creative movement, and yoga. Our goal is to help each student find a place for dance in their life. No matter what the degree of each child's dance goals, discovering movement should be nothing but empowering. Through dance, Small Fry teaches children to be creative, physically fit, flexible, confident, and artistic.

Small Fry Dance Club was founded by Jana Chapeton in early 2007. We have had 1,000 plus students come through the program at over 20 different schools. We have also been nominated as "Best Dance School" by Best of The Bay TV (2009).

All of our teachers have extensive education and experience teaching dance, performance, and motor skills to preschool and school age students. Twice a year, Small Fry dancers have the chance to participate in our company performances. Our shows are a great chance for the dancers to gain experience performing, while sharing their progress in weekly dance class with friends and family.
