Spanish Language Immersion Programs in Cusco, Peru

Centro Tinku, Cusco:
Centro Tinku Language School is located in the heart of the Andean city of Cusco in Peru and prides on promoting cultural exchanges through the diffusion of knowledge about Andean traditional cultures and languages.

STANDARD SPANISH COURSES:
We offer 3 levels of intensive Spanish and 3 levels of Quechua in groups or in individual classes.

Group Course:
Maximum 6 persons per group
Minimum 20 hours of classes
Placement test in class.

Individual Lesson:
Minimum 20 hours of classes
Placement test in class.

Language and volunteering:
We have designed a program of intensive language courses followed by a period of volunteering in an NGO or local institution.

Language and traditional crafts of the Andes:
Learn the ancient techniques of the Incas, which have been transmitted from generations since pre-colonial times.

Language and Weaving course:
After a period of intensive language in our Center, you will have the opportunity to learn the art of Andean weaving taught by women weavers in small weaving communities of the Andes.

Program:
Week One and Two: Intensive Spanish or Quechua in Cusco. Accommodation in homestay, hotel or apartment.
Week three: Trip to a highland weaving community. Daily weaving classes: 20 hours total of weaving instruction by local experts. Homestay in an indigenous family.

Language and Pottery Course:
After a period of intensive language in our Center, you will have the opportunity to learn the art of Andean pottery taught by local experts

Program:
Weeks one and two: Intensive Spanish or Quechua in Cusco. Accommodation in homestay, hotel or apartment.
Week three: 10 hours of language instruction and 20 hours of pottery in the workshop of a renown cuzqueño potter. Accommodation in homestay, hotel or apartment.
Week four: Trip to a highland potters’ community. Homestay in an indigenous family. Daily pottery classes: 20 hours total of pottery instruction by local experts.

Language and Community-based Programs:
Undergo the adventure of a lifetime: Total cultural experience in a native community.

Language and rural homestay on Lake Titicaca
After a period of intensive language in our Center, you will be placed in fishing and/or farming village on the shore or on an island of the highest lake in the world. You will live in a community of either Quechua-speaking or Spanish-speaking indigenous people, according to the language of instruction you chose.

Program:
Weeks one and two: Intensive Spanish or Quechua in Cusco. Accommodation in homestay, hotel or apartment.
Week three: Trip to Titicaca, visit historic sites on the way. Homestay in an indigenous family and participation in the daily life of the community.

Language and rural homestay in the Andean highlands:
After a period of intensive language in our Center, you will be placed in a farming and/or herding village located in the folds of the mighty Andes. You will live in a community of either Quechua-speaking or Spanish-speaking indigenous people, according to the language of instruction you chose.

Program:
Weeks one and two: Intensive Spanish or Quechua in Cusco. Accommodation in homestay, hotel or apartment.
Week three: Trip to the mountains. Homestay in an indigenous family and participation in the daily life of the community.

Spanish and Ecology of the Amazonian rain forest:
After a period of intensive language in our Center, you will travel to the Amazonian basin, and experience the unique biodiversity of the rain forest.

Program:
Weeks one and two: Intensive Spanish in Cusco. Accommodation in homestay, hotel or apartment.
Week three: Trip to the National Park of Manu. Camping in the rain forest and ecologically orientated treks.
