- Close Proximity to NY City:
In 90 minutes or less, students and teachers may travel from Blair to New York City for culture, entertainment and an extension of classroom learning.

Dance and music students often enjoy master classes or performances at Lincoln Center (New York City Ballet, New York Philharmonic), while art classes make annual pilgrimages to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.

- International Weekend:
Each winter the Blair community enjoys the multi-cultural excitement of International Weekend. Boys and girls from nearly two dozen countries attend Blair and this weekend is an opportunity for Blair students to sample cuisine, clothing and traditions from their classmates’ native countries, including Spain, Peru, India, China, France, Korea, Thailand and more.

- The Outdoor Theatre:
Drama Teacher Craig Evans (who taught Ethan Hawke) built the outdoor amphitheatre with his own hands over the course of three years, and it has become a popular venue for outdoor classes and the Blair Academy Players’ spring play.

- Accreditation:
We are accredited by the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.

Mission Statement:

Blair Academy seeks to enroll talented young men and women from diverse backgrounds. Through a broad regimen of academics, athletics, arts and extra-curricular opportunities, students are led to make strong relationships with responsible adults and with their peers.

The School works to foster spiritual, social and personal growth; to complement tradition with innovation; to balance independence with cooperation; and to provide fertile ground for curiosity and a genuine love of learning.

Residential Life:

The dorm becomes literally the students’ “home away from home.” Most students share their living areas with roommates, though a few single rooms are available. The Office of Student Affairs assigns roommates for all new students, while each spring, returning students choose their own roommates for the coming year.

The Housemaster and other dormitory faculty play a unique role in residential life. They help create a community and ensure that students adapt to dorm life and school.

The campus bustles with activity at weekends with dances, casino night, sporting events and student theater productions.

Student Activities:

The wide variety of campus activities represents the many interests and strengths of the student body and the faculty members who act as advisors for these programs. Through such activities, students develop talents, broaden horizons and explore new interests.

Students can write for the newspaper or work as a radio announcer or help others through organizations such as the Human Relations Committee or Community Service Group. They can sing, conduct school tours or hone their musical talents in the wind ensemble. There are many different outlets for Blair students to remain active outside of class.
