The Montessori Enrichment Center, an affiliate of the American Montessori Society, offers a unique, carefully prepared learning environment for children two to six years of age. Our center is located in Howell, Monmouth County, New Jersey within the New York metro area, and is licensed by the State of New Jersey under the Division of Youth and Family Services. All our teachers are Montessori Certified.
Our program, which offers a sensible balance between freedom and structure, is based on the educational method developed by Dr. Maria Montessori. Learning is individualized with the direct aim of assisting the child to achieve inner discipline, independence, confidence, and self-esteem as well as consideration for others and and a love of learning.
Our children work both individually and in group from an ordered arrangement of learning materials attractively displayed on low shelves. The children receive individual attention in a happy and relaxed atmosphere where older children help the younger children.

Sensitive Periods:
These "sensitive periods" of development highlight when a child's interest and mental capacity are best suited for learning. Maria Montessori believed to support the child's learning we must identify and then focus in on certain sensitive periods in the child's development. As the child passes through these periods, we must furnish the child with what will help them respond and learn.
