Opus Music Education:
Opus Music Education, located in Los Angeles, California, is a unique music school offering private music lessons to students of all ages throughout the Greater Los Angeles & Southern California areas. Lessons are provided either at the student's home or at the teacher's studio. We have teachers that teach in a variety of instruments and styles. Currently we offer lessons in the following instruments: Drums, Guitar, Piano, Violin & Voice. We recommend that students have their own instrument to maximize efficiency in your music learning. If you don't have your own instrument, your teacher can provide a recommendation at your first lesson.
Opus Music Education was founded by Theresa Chen. Theresa started her musical journey at the age of six. While piano was her first instrument, she also learned four other musical instruments and participated in numerous public recitals, master classes, and local piano competitions as a child. She began teaching music when she was a student at UCLA and was asked to take over the instruction of after-school piano classes at elementary schools in West LA. Since then, she has been actively teaching private and group piano lessons. She received her Masters degree from California State University Fullerton where she majored in Piano Pedagogy, focusing on group and private piano instruction. In 2005, Theresa was recognized by the Music Teachers National Association for her successful teaching experience and outstanding contributions to the music teaching profession.

Our teachers are highly qualified instructors who have passed our rigorous hiring standards. You'll find that our teachers come from all facets of life. Most of our teachers have at least a Bachelor's degree in music. Some teachers are currently working toward a music degree or are highly proficient in their instrument and have passed our thorough quality standards. Whatever the case, all of the teachers share one thing in common: the passion to teach music and the dedication to share music with others.
