abbeySCHOOL CiaoItaly is an Italian language school located in Turin, Northern Italy that specialises in teaching Italian language and culture to foreigners. We offer group Italian courses, private lessons for adults and preparation for the CILS exam and guarantee a learning experience of the highest quality. We were awarded the UNI EN ISO 9001:2000 quality certification in 2007. Our decision to work with only small groups ensures that each participant has the opportunity to develop and improve their linguistic skills. Access to each course requires an entrance exam in order to form classes of a suitable level for all participants.

Our standard courses of Italian language and culture are organized for all levels (beginner, intermediate and advanced) and are established according to the needs of students. They vary in both intensity and duration.
Group courses start every second Monday of the month.

Individual lessons:
For people who desire to learn Italian with a fully personalised programme, these individual lessons are ideal for a student who wants to fulfPhoto of Italian Courses in Turinill his/her professional requirements. These courses of at least 20 hours cater for all levels of Italian language knowledge (elementary, intermediate, advanced, conversation, business Italian, etc.).

Semi-individual Courses:

Mini groups:
Composed of three or four students, these courses unite the dynamism of a group course with the flexibility of a small group. They are ideal for students with specific attendance needs and timetables. They allow the achievement of linguistic skills adapted to the level taught more intensively.

The minimum duration of the courses is 1 week with attendance from 15 to 20 hours of lessons per week, and the courses can be extended to more than one week. Also in this case the lessons can be integrated, on demand, with guided tours in order to discover the local area, and visits to food and wine workshops.

Intensive group courses:
Composed of a minimum of five and a maximum of eight students, the courses are suitable for students who desire to learn language in aImage of Italian Courses in Turin dynamic and fun environment. They allow the achievement of linguistic skills adapted to the level being taught: grammar structures, extension of vocabulary, learning and improvement of pronunciation, conversation, comprehension, reading and writing.

The minimum duration of the courses is 1 week with attendance from 15 to 20 hours of lessons per week, and the courses can be extended to more than one week.

Courses for foreigners who live and study in Turin:
Composed of a minimum of four and a maximum of eight students, the courses are suitable for people who expect to remain in Turin for at least a semester. These courses expect two or three weekly attendances of 2 hours for a minimum of 30 hours.

Students (Polytechnic, Erasmus, IED) from any European university, upon presentation of their university registration documents, will receive their study material free of charge.

Courses for Asians:
On demand, they can be organized according to all the aforementioned typologies. They are characterized by programmes based on specially designed teaching methodologies, which take into consideration the phonetic and syntactic diversity of non-European languages, and by staff who are familiar with the main Asian languages.

Summer Courses:
Composed of a minimum of four and a maximum of twelve students, the courses are ideal for students who intend to learn the Italian language during summer vacation (from June to August).

Intensive courses of 20 hours/weePhotos of abbeySCHOOL CiaoItaly, Turink, include afternoon activities and excursions to discover the local area at the end of the week. The minimum duration of the courses is 2 weeks, which can be extended on request. They start on the first and the third Monday of each month.

Courses for Children:
Composed of a maximum of eight students, the courses are established for children between 5 and 13 years old. These courses offer the basic learning of the language by means of games adapted to the age of the participants. The lessons, with a duration of 90 minutes each, can be arranged on a daily basis or be organized according to a different timetable.

International Exams
AbbeySCHOOL CiaoItaly also provides preparatory courses for the CILS exam of the Università per Stranieri di Siena (the University for Foreigners of Siena).

It provides an official qualification which declares one's level of communicative skill in Italian as a foreign language. All foreigners who intend to certify their knowledge of Italian language for study and/or work purposes can take such an exam also without having attended specific courses in Italian.

On the basis of Common European Framework of Reference for Languages proposed by the European Council, the exam provides certification for 6 levels of Italian language knowledge (A1, A2, B1, B2, C1 and C2) by means of 5 different tests of ability: listening, reading, analysis of communicative structure, writing and oral production.

In the event that the student passes only one or some of the 5 tests, it is possible to capitalize them and repeat the tests within a year.
