The Galilei Institute is located in the center of Florence in the magistic Tuscany region in the north of Italy. We are the most prestigious Italian language school for foreigners / international students which exclusively offers one-to-one and personalized full immersion Italian language courses for professionals and students. Our Italian language courses are offered all year round (including Christmas, Easter and summer vacation) in a choice of three different types of environments such as the city of Florence, countryside of Florence (Chianti area) or the Tuscan coast. Italian Language Courses:
We offer a wide range of high quality Italian language courses for all levels from beginner to advanced:
- One-to-one Italian language courses
- Small group Italian language courses (maximum 4 students)
- Weekend crash courses in Italian language
- Italiano Insieme Scheme (1-2 month course)
Italian Language Course "A":
4 hours of Italian a day, from 9am to 1pm. Course "A" is basic and advisable for those who wish to have free time for other activities.
Italian Language Course "B":
6 hours of Italian a day, from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 4pm. course "B" emphasizes grammar and language structure in the morning and exercises of practical use of the language during the afternoon hours.
Italian Language Course "C":
6 hours of Italian a day, from 9am to 3pm including lunch with the teacher*. This format insures the lesson's continuity and the participation of the student in realistic situations.
Italian Language Course "D":
8 hours of Italian a day, from 9am to 1pm and from 2pm to 6pm. course "D" offers a longer, more concentrated contact with the language for enhanced retention of the lessons. Two instructors teach this course in order to accustom the student to different ways of speaking which she/he will confront in real life circumstances.
Italian Language Course "E":
8 hours of Italian a day, from 9am to 5pm including lunch with the teacher*. The lessons continue without interruption with two different teachers and allow the student undiluted exposure to the Italian language for 8 hours inside and out of the school.
Italian Language Course "F":
5 hours of Italian a day, from 5pm to 10pm including dinner with the teacher*. course "F" has been structured for those who wish to take advantage of the day time hours for business or sightseeing.
Italian Courses "Special Italian Crash Weekend":
A total of 16 or 20 hours of a full immersion course that runs from Friday afternoon to Sunday. The 20 hour program includes lunches and dinners at the restaurants with the teachers. The program of each one-to-one course ranges from the 1st level (for beginners) to the 10th level. The highest level indicates perfect mastery of the language, certified by the "Diploma Finale".

Do you have one or more months to spend in Florence? Are you on a tight budget? Are you unable to attend our one-to-one courses? We would like to help you !
In collaboration with a school that specializes in group courses, we organize a program to respond to the above issues while maintaining, at the same time, our high standards and quality. The program is open to all students, with no restrictions regarding age or nationality. With 6 different course levels, we can accommodate a broad range of student needs; from introducing beginners to the language, to developing the knowledge and skills of those who have studied Italian previously.
Levels include:
* Beginners:
Basic grammar and vocabulary to enable students to face many daily situations, to ask and give information. Present, past and future of the most used verbs; articles, nouns, adjectives, familiar and polite forms, possessive pronouns. Special attention is given to pronunciation.
* Elementary:
Development of basic grammar and vocabulary to enable students to handle more complex situations, expressing wishes and improving general ability to speak through use of the conditional tense and how to make comparisons. Refining of pronunciation.
* Intermediate 1:
Coverage of all basic grammar to enable students to deal with all common situations. By learning the subjunctive mood, students will learn how to correctly express opinions, hopes, thoughts and points of view. Introduction to the historical past tense through reading of newspaper articles and short stories.
* Intermediate 2:
Start dreaming and thinking in Italian. The flow of expression allows students to become personally involved in the Italian way of life by fully understanding customs, habits and attitudes of the Italians. Learning of idiomatic expressions.
* Advanced 1:
Learning basic syntax, direct/indirect speech. Conversation on current events in Italy such as culture, news, politics, communication furthers the comprehension of films, TV programs as well as newspaper and magazines articles.
* Advanced 2:
Analysis of the language and its various structures. Different forms of expressions (popular, current, cultured, formal, etc.). Exploration of nuances of Italian allowing a deeper understanding and a more sophisticated expression.
