ELIT-St Denis International School, Loches:
At ELIT-Groupe St Denis in Loches, in the Loire Valley in France, we believe that together, in the spirit of reciprocal trust, we will be able to prepare your children for an adult life, with you their parents and primary educators, who choose this school.

Kindergarten and Primary school:
Saint-Martin welcomes students from Kindergarten and up to 10 years old. A spacious natural environment with a warm familial climate are just some of the qualities offered by the school. The pedagogical team works together in the spirit of collaboration to ensure the success and fulfilment of each child’s potential. We combine ‘savoir être’ (knowledge of one’s self, autonomy, respect of others, respect of the rules), with ‘savoir-faire’ (reading, writing, counting, reasoning, creating). For those who are in difficulty we have a student support service (SAED). English is taught in an intensive manner at the kindergarten and primary levels.

Middle School:
Pupils are welcomed and treated as individuals, with their specific preoccupations, be they young children or adolescents. A number of projects have been put in place to create a dynamic and open establishment which benefits from the use of new technologies. Exam results are excellent. The Middle School also offers students the opportunity to join an International Section for English from Grade 6 (year 7) and up.

- Interdisciplinary projects in Grades 7 and 8 (years 8 and 9).
- Document research and utilisation of the CDI resources.
- Respect and celebration of diverse talents (sports, artistic creations, scientific techniques).
- Evaluation of students individual and joint written and oral work.

We prepare the young for the world outside school by offering cultural visits, sports competitions and nature walks. We encourage a spiritual awakening through Christian culture, spiritual discovery and celebrations. Infants are welcomed from the age of two years old. The school’s timetable is divided into four days. A kindergarten service is available from 7:30 in the morning, until 6’o clock in the evening.

High School:
Baccalaureate : Economics - Literature/Philosophy - Science - STG (Management and Accounting Technology). The outstanding results we have achieved over the years, with 90% of our students graduating, have contributed to Saint-Denis’ reputation for excellence worldwide.

European section : English re-inforcement, teaching of History and Geography in English and preparation for Baccalaureate, European specialisation.

Evaluation of the learning process :
- Progress reports every three weeks.
- Close relationships with parents, availability of teachers.
- Communication and interaction encouraging a more responsible attitude in the learning process.

Transition Year:
Since 1979, we have given students the option of studying for the Baccalauréate over a period of four years. This is aimed at students in Grade 9 (year 10) who are temporarily in difficulty. This class has been integrated into the High School and builds upon the programme followed by students in Grade 9 (year 10), in preparation for their entrance into Grade 10 (year 11).

THIS class demands the active participation of the student and encourages individual and collective projects, with the aim of forming an autonomous student who is ready and able to succeed in the High School.

Each year, around 2/3 of students progress to Grade 10 (year 11) General or Grade 10 (year 11) Technology Option.
