Accreditation:
The art programs and Italian language & culture courses offered at the Accademia Italiana have been authorized by the Italian Ministry of Public Education. Our 3-year bachelor's degree programs are dual qualification courses; On successful graduation, you earn a BA (Hons) degree validated by the prestigious University of Wales, a leading UK university, as well as an advanced diploma from Accademia Italiana.

Courses Taught in English & Italian:

Image of Art & Design Courses in Florence & RomeYou do not need to speak Italian in order to attend the Accademia Italiana. Many courses are taught in both English and Italian. Some courses are taught only in Italian but by instructors who can also speak English to assist students. Italian language classes are offered as part of your program, so eligibility does not depend on your Italian language skills. You will take four 3-credit courses per semester, plus Italian language for 4 credits.

Study Abroad in Italy for College Credit!
Over the past 20 years, The Accademia Italiana has been host to students from more than 200 US universities who want to study in Florence or Rome. Study options include: Semester program (Spring / Fall), academic year abroad, summer study abroad programs. We provide a range of relevant Liberal Arts and Studio Arts courses in both cities which are taught in the English language or are bi-lingual (Italian and English), and that cover important aspects of Italian history and culture.

Our study abroad programs may also involve enrollment in one or more of the art and design courses offered by the Accademia Italiana at each campus. In addition, Italian language courses are offered at all levels - from beginner to advanced. Students will be immersed in an international environment, where they will live and study with students from all over Italy and all over the world.

Italian Language & Culture Courses:
Month-long Italian language courses are available in Florence and Rome during the academic year and during the summer. We teach students of all levels - basic, intermediate & advanced. Students can choose to attend 40 hours or 80 hours of Italian classes per month.

Our main headquarters are situated in Piazza Pitti, directly across from the Pitti Palace in Florence. Our students will be surrounded by some of the greatest works of art and architecture as our school is very close to the Uffizi Gallery, the Cathedral, Ponte Vecchio, Piazza della Signoria and all the other monuments of this magnificent Renaissance city. You will find artisan workshops in the surrounding streets as well as the boutiques and ateliers of the great Italian designers.

Rome:
Located in a lively, commercial area near to the historic center of the Eternal City, the Accademia Italiana Rome campus is conveniently located just a few steps away from the Trastevere train station. Our modern facilities include computer laboratories, art studio, workshops for sewing and pattern design, classrooms with audio-visual equipment, reading room, as well as large multi-use spaces and an art gallery.

Pop Makeup Academy in Rome, Italy offers professional makeup artist training to students of all levels. Originally established in Los Angeles, California by the talented Margaret Kimura, we provide makeup artists to some of the biggest celebrities in Hollywood. We combine technology and creativity through a unique professional methodology and specific intensive training.

Pop Makeup offers a professional makeup artist program in Rome. In this 147 hour course, you will learn the professional techniques of beauty makeup for Retail, Bridal and Events. It is designed to prepare students to work as entry-level professional makeup artists in the Bridal and retail industries. A Certificate of Attendance is presented upon completion of this program.

Our aim is to train talented professional makeup artists who are able to integrate into this exciting and competitive field.
