General English Course:
We have general language courses to suit everyone with courses starting every week of the year. You can study any length of time from 1 to 48 weeks and choose the best timetable for you. You can study from 09.00 to 12.00, 12.00 to 15.00 or 15.00 to 18.00. Courses start every Monday.
We also have intensi
ve courses where you can study six lessons (5 hours) per day. We are happy to welcome all levels of ability from Beginners to Proficiency.General English will provide you with a balance of the input and skills that you need to improve your English for everyday use. We want to maximise the advantage of your time in London so our programmes focus on communication with pronunciation, speaking, listening and vocabulary featuring every day. FCE, CAE, CPE:
ILEC. International Legal English Certificate. This exam is aimed at upper-intermediate and advanced level learners of English and can be taken by law students and qualified lawyers. The examination takes place twice a year, in May and November, and tests learners at Common European Framework levels B2 and C1. These levels are equivalent to the FCE and CAE General English examinations.
This exam is recognised by the European Company Lawyers Association, the European Law Students Association, the International Association of Young Lawyers and the European Young Bar Association. The exam contains four papers, reading, writing, listening and speaking and all candidates receive a statement of results showing their performance.
IELTS:
Mayfair School offers a twelve-week preparation course for the IELTS Academic Training Examination as well as a continuous enrolment course for the IELTS General Training Examination. These courses are designed to familiarise you with the four different papers and improve your skills to help you obtain the result you need. You will study fifteen lessons per week and complete a substantial amount of homework.
IELTS is now essential for those hoping to study at UK universities or work in the nursing profession. Your course will introduce you to all of the tasks contained within the exam and individual attention from your tutor will help improve your writing, reading, listening and speaking skills.
The IELTS exam takes place every Saturday in London and the school is happy to help you organise your place. You can find out your result in just two weeks and remember that a good IELTS result will also improve your CV.
