Today, Simon Bolivar has 25 teachers in Quito, 15 teachers in Cuenca and offers classes throughout Ecuador. We come highly recommended by our students and many independent organisations such as the South American Explorers Club. The school is officially registered and approved by the Ministry of Education.
We are located in the heart of the modern part of Quito, a few minutes walk from the tourist area with all the bars, restaurants and shops. We have space for more than 40 students, divided into morning and afternoon sessions. There are many individual rooms for study. Our travel agency is situated in the same building, so you'll never need to worry about exciting activities and traveling to do on the weekends.
If you are a complete beginner or just need a refresher course; if you are from the US, Europe or elsewhere; if you want to learn for tourism, for business or perhaps for medical volunteer work; if you need your studies officially credited for universities back home, if you are old or young …whatever your needs or background, we are sure to be able to help you.
We offer many options for accommodations; homestay, apartment or hostel. You are of course free to find your own accommodation. We would be happy to make reservations for you in any place in Quito.
We offer a range of different activities. In addition to the activities mentioned below we sometimes offer cooking lessons, visits to museums, cultural events, parties, group classes with special topics, etc.
Spanish Courses / Programs:
We offer high-quality Spanish lessons, either private or in group, for all levels. Activities for free such as salsa lessons, cooking lessons, culture/history lessons, etc. Also: Simon Bolivar Spanish School Pacific Coast Program.
Simon Bolivar is recommended by the Ministry of Education and you will receive an official certificate when you have completed a two month course and taken an exam. Students who spend less time at the school will also receive a certificate from the school.

The Amauta Foundation located in Cuenca, in the south of Ecuador, is a non-profit organization devoted to education and research on social and environmental issues in South America, with special emphasis on Ecuadorian studies. It donates a portion of its income to local welfare projects.We offer general Spanish training as well as technical Spanish in different fields. Students practice grammar and the four main language skills: conversation, reading, writing, and listening. Classes are fun and entertaining.
