Herlufsholm Skole: Herlufsholm Skole is a boys & girls boarding school and mixed day school with an International Baccalaureate department. The language of instruction in the IB-department is English & Danish. Herlufsholm aims to provide a Danish framework, encompassing Christian and democratic ideals, in a historic setting, for the optimal preparation of young people - irrespective of background and financial means - for their adult lives. It remains a boarding school rich in tradition, but it is also a modern, internationally oriented institution. Both in and out of the classroom, Herlufsholm pupils acquire the professional and personal skills required to be able to play their parts as responsible citizens making a positive contribution to national and international society.
Herlufsholm offers possibly the most comprehensive educational programme in Denmark to boys and girls from their sixth year of schooling to the sixth form.
Junior school: Herlufsholm has created its own educational model for the 6th to 9th grade classes, called the Junior Programme. The programme follows the requirements and criteria laid down by the Department of Education.
We call the 10th grade the Preparatory class as the teaching is designed to prepare the students for the senior school. Senior School: The teaching complies with the regulations issued by the Ministry of Education for Danish Senior School exams. Because of the modest size of Herlufsholm School, the choice of different lines and optional subjects may be more limited than in larger schools.
A sophisticated information technology system with many IT centres for the students and newly equipped physics and chemistry laboratories are optimal facilities for the students. International Baccalaureate Herlufsholm has offered the International Baccalaureate (IB) since 1997. IB is a two-year course corresponding to the 2nd and 3rd year of senior school; all teaching takes place in English and the final examination is the same for students all over the world. Thus an IB examination gives access to further education at universities worldwide. In preparation for IB, we offer a Pre-IB course, corresponding to the first year in senior school, but all the teaching is in English.
The IB diploma programme is a comprehensive and rigorous two-year curriculum. At Herlufsholm Skole the IB programme is an international pre-university education anchored in Danish history and environment. Danish has a very high priority at Herlufsholm, both as a native language, as a second language, and as a beginner language. The curriculum consists of six subject groups accompanied by three other central and fundamental programmes.
Welbeck Defence Sixth Form College is a co-educational, residential sixth-form boarding college in Loughborough in Leicestershire, Central England. One of the top colleges in the country, Welbeck offers a two-year A-level education for students wishing to pursue an engineering based career in the Army, Royal Navy, Royal Air Force and MOD (Ministry of Defence) Civil Service.
The college accommodates around 340 students on a superbly equipped, ultra-modern campus. The tuition is free, although parents may have to contribute towards living expenses. Once a student completes the course, they would then be committed to a career in the Army for a period of time.
All of the subjects offered for AS and A Level courses at Welbeck are designed to allow students to develop their scientific skills and/or to develop a broader range of knowledge and understanding.
Welbeck welcomes British and Commonwealth citizens. After graduation from Welbeck, most students go on to one of eight specified universities on a generous technical bursary to study towards their chosen career and then go onto professional training within their chosen service.
Situated in Kent, just 35 minutes south-east of London, Rochester Independent College (RIC) is an alternative to conventional secondary education, and provides day programs (ages 11+) and boarding programs (ages 16+) to students from the U.K. and international students. About 65 of the College's 280 students are boarders.
The College has an atmosphere closer to university than school. We offer students the opportunity to thrive in an atmosphere of managed independence that acts as a stepping stone between school and university.
At RIC, there is no uniform, no bells ring and everybody is on first name terms. Students are encouraged to be themselves and achieve exam results that often exceed their expectations.
“My wife and I left RIC after our visit convinced it was the right move for our daughter. In fact, it’s the kind of school we both would have loved to have gone to ourselves.” - Parent Testimonial

Boys and girls are taught together in our vibrant co-educational pre-prep school (ages 3-6). From Year 2 they are taught separately in small, single-sex classes. We believe this is the best system for developing their academic potential.
