Montessori Method:
St. Alcuin’s pedagogy is based on the pioneering work of Dr. Maria Montessori, who developed her educational principles in the early 1900s. Although Montessori was heralded as the century's leading advocate for early childhood education, she also inspired change in the education of older children through her findings.
Many aspects of current educational practice have been adapted from her theories, such as the development of the open classroom concept, multi-age classrooms, manipulative learning materials, developmentally appropriate curriculum, and individualized education.
