We offer a range of English courses including Cambridge exam preparation courses.

Cambridge General Certificate Preparation courses

Course structure:

3 intakes per year (full-time)
- January (10-week course preparing for March exams, except CPE)
- March (12-week course preparing for June exams)
- September (12-week course preparing for December exams)

SELC’s Cambridge Preparation course consists of a 12-week course of study (or 10 weeks for the year’s first course) that gives students the skills and training they need to pass the Cambridge exam and dramatically improve their English in all areas.

Class Size:Cambridge classes are relatively small, with the number of students ranging from 8-14, and the CPE class usually having about 8 students. This facilitates personalised attention and a close relationship between students and teachers.

The classes focus on developing students’ knowledge and competence in reading, writing, grammar, listening and speaking as well as teaching study skills and exam techniques. A textbook is used, and this provides the basic weekly theme and grammar points. This is supplemented by other lessons, including newspaper readings, film and TV listening practices and computer-based lessons. Regular homework is given to provide practice and to check students’ understanding of the day’s lessons.
