Corte Madera Montessori is a private Montessori School devoted to the education of Pre-Primary, Primary and Kindergarten children (ages 2-5 years) in Corte Madera in Marin County in the North San Francisco Bay Area. We base our philosophy and programs on the pioneering work of Dr. Maria Montessori. Through careful observation of how a child learns, she developed educational materials designed to assist children to reach their full potential of self-confidence and independence. Dr. Montessori’s methods follow and inspire the natural enthusiasm children have for learning.

Pre-Primary Program:

- Ages 2 - 3 years
- School Day:  9:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Half Day:  9:00 am - 12:00 pm

Our Pre-Primary Program includes work with the Montessori materials with an emphasis on the development of language, motor skills, and socialization. The children also participate in many art, gardening, and special projects and events.

Primary Program:
- Ages 3 - 5 years
- School Day: 9:00 am - 2:30 pm
- Half Day: 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

From 9:00 - 11:00, the children engage in their morning work period. This includes individual and group lessons, and self-chosen work using Montessori materials in practical life and sensorial skills, language, math, geography and world culture. Art, music, gardening and special programs and events are important daily enrichments. Snack is available throughout the morning.

Extended School Program (ESP):
Extended care is available to Primary students before school from 8:00 am-9:00 am and after school from 2:30 pm-4:30 pm. Extended care for Pre-Primary students is available in the mornings from 8:00 am-9:00 am on a limited basis, and in the afternoons from 2:30 - 3:30 pm.

Primary Program Summer Sessions:
The summer program is comprised of one-week sessions that start in June and end in August. Enrolled Primary students may register for all or some of the sessions. ESP is also available.
