The Orme School: The Orme School, located in Orme (halfway between Phoenix and Flagstaff), Arizona, Southwestern USA, is an accredited college preparatory boarding school for girls and boys offering grades K - 12 (day) and 8 - 12 (boarding). The Orme School is located near the geographic enter of Arizona, about halfway between Phoenix and Flagstaff and 3 miles off Interstate 17. It is located along Ash Creek in the high country of central Arizona, an area of striking natural beauty. And yet, Orme is not isolated. The bustling metropolis of Phoenix, and the charming towns of Prescott, Sedona, and Flagstaff are close enough that some students commute to school daily. They provide regular cultural and recreational opportunities. The campus itself occupies half a square mile (125 hectares). It has tall trees, green lawns, flowery gardens, and historic nineteenth-century ranch buildings.
The Orme School is near the geographic enter of Arizona, about halfway between Phoenix and Flagstaff and 3 miles off Interstate 17. Please note that the School is not in Mayer, which is merely the nearest post office. (Mayer is 20 miles away on a different highway.)
From Phoenix: •Head north on I-17 for about 1 hour.
•Take Exit 268, Orme-Dugas Road (about 5 miles past the Cordes Junction/Prescott turn-off).
•Go west (left) under the freeway. The pavement ends shortly.
•Follow the Orme School signs, bearing right at two junctions.
•This 3 mile graded earth road (well traveled) crosses a bridge and leads to the center of campus.
From Prescott: •Head south on Hwy 69 for about 45 minutes to I-17.
•Go north on I-17 for about 5 miles.
•Take Exit 268, the Orme-Dugas Road.
•Go West (left) under the freeway. The pavement ends shortly.
•Follow the Orme School signs, bearing right at two junctions.
•This 3 mile graded earth road (well traveled) crosses a bridge and leads to the center of campus.
From Flagstaff: •Head south on I-17 for about 1 hour.
•Take Exit 268, Orme-Dugas Road (about 9 miles south of state highway 169, the Cherry Road).
•Go West (right). The pavement ends shortly.
•Follow the Orme School signs, bearing right at two junctions.
•This 3 mile graded earth road (well traveled) crosses a bridge and leads to the center of campus.

Located in northwestern Montana, Turning Winds Academic Institute (TWAI) is an accredited, family-run, therapeutic boarding school for troubled teens (boys and girls) ages 13-18 from Arizona and across the United States.
In our beautiful, peaceful, and safe location, we combine the benefits of a therapeutic boarding school, a wilderness program, and a residential treatment center (RTC).
