Early Childhood Education Programs for Children Ages 0-6:

Infants Program (Nido) 6 wks - 15 months:

Our ‘Nido’ program provides quality care for a maximum of 12 infants, ages 6 weeks to 15 months. ‘Nido’ is derived from the Italian word meaning ‘nest’ and conveys the spirit of our infant environment. Our carefully designed Montessori, infant environment possesses a warm, homelike feeling where each child is free to move, explore, and discover without traditional constraints. Natural lighting, strategically displayed Montessori materials, and unique gross motor equipment allure curiosity while promoting a calm ambiance.

Toddler Program (15 months - 36 months):

The Montessori Toddler Program is designed for children who are 15 to 36 months. This period in a child’s life is a time of immense activity and discovery as the child investigates his world and, most importantly, learns to form his own opinions. Development during this period focuses on learning to be independent. Our corresponding education environment supports this natural drive, enabling the child to become competent and confident.

At Cosmic Montessori Community we recognize each child’s need for autonomy during this unique period and allow for long periods of discussion and experimentation so that he can formulate a hypothesis, test it repeatedly, and arrive at a logical conclusion. The classroom is designed so that the child can freely explore, choose, and replace materials in an orderly fashion.

Primary and Kindergarten Program:
The child from ages 3 to 6 years is a sensorial explorer, soaking up every aspect of the environment. Cosmic Montessori Community encourages the child in this sensitive development period to learn to read, write, and calculate in the same natural way he learns to walk and talk. Our classrooms provide an environment where the child is free to respond to his natural tendency to work.

The child’s innate passion for learning is encouraged by giving him opportunities to engage in spontaneous, purposeful activities with the guidance of a professionally trained adult. Through his work, the child develops concentration and joyful self-discipline. The Montessori materials allow the child to explore his world and enable him to develop essential cognitive skills. Within a framework of order, the child progresses at his own pace and rhythm, according to his individual capabilities. Characteristics of our prepared environments include beauty, order, reality, simplicity, and accessibility.

Prenatal Course:

The Prenatal Course prepares mothers and families for the changes that will occur physically, emotionally, and mentally during the prenatal term. This course is designed to provide extensive knowledge to expectant families on the following topics: safe and effective pre and post natal exercise, posture, and stretching; massage; nutrition; relaxation; and methods for preparing the home environment. Classes will be taught by individuals with extensive training and knowledge in the above-mentioned areas.

Parent-Child Class:
The Parent Child course is designed as an introduction and transition for families into Cosmic Montessori Community’ environments. This course is offered for children ages’ birth to 3 years old accompanied by a parent or primary caregiver. This class is taught in a Montessori designed environment by a professionally trained instructor.
