Based in Austin, Texas, SPI Study Abroad programs give high school students the opportunity to earn college credit and immerse themselves in a foreign language. Our high school study abroad programs take place in Spain, France, Italy, China, and Costa Rica, and last from between 2 and 4 weeks. SPI participants are high school students in grades 9-12 that come from all over the United States, and even from around the world. Studying abroad will be a defining period in your educational experience — it is a journey that will transform you into being a global thinker with an international perspective.

Our Mission:

In 1996, our programs were founded by language educators to provide students an authentic language and cultural immersion experience coupled with a cross-cultural leadership and community service component. Students develop global perspectives and leadership skills that give them a competitive advantage in college admissions and future endeavors.

Global Leadership & Volunteer Courses:
In addition to language immersion, SPI programs include a leadership enrichment or community service component. Through engaging group discussions, team building excursions and community service projects, students foster personal growth, leadership skills and cultural awareness.

Language Courses for College Credit:
All SPI programs combine serious academics with interactive real world experiences. Students study at an accredited foreign university or language institute and receive an official transcript, which can be petitioned to receive college credit.

Our average program size is between 18-28 students, and we consistently maintain a 1 to 8 faculty/student ratio. Our student body is comprised of students from North America and other international schools. Courses and locations include:

Located in McAllen, TX, the International Museum of Art & Science (IMAS) provides a wide range of STEAM based summer camp programs for children of grades 1-8.

Topics for our unique 4-day summer camp courses include chemistry, creative writing, engineering, robotics, environmental science, and more! Registration fees include scheduled activities, supplies, a camp t-shirt, lunch, an afternoon snack, and exploration time in our exhibit spaces.

Our camps inspire and enrich the lives of children year after year. Campers don’t even realize they are learning because they’re having so much fun! Classes are held Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Before and after care is available at an additional cost.

• Are you searching for a fun summer language camp in Houston TX for your child of Preschool / Kindergarten to 1st Grade Elementary School age?

• Conveniently situated in Rice Village in south-central Houston (close to Downtown), Crossing Borders provides 1 to 10-week Spanish summer camps for kids ages 4, 5 and 6 years old.
