Co-Educational Residential (Overnight) Summer Camp for Kids & Teens (Aged 7-16 years):

Camp Huawni enrolls 130 campers in each of four summer camp sessions, two sessions of 2-week duration and two sessions lasting 1-week. The ratio of campers (girls to boys) is approximately 60% to 40%. Girls’ camp is located on the south campus and boys’ camp is located on the north campus. Our summer camp is based on Christian principles and values modeled by the Camp Huawni staff.

The Huawni program begins with simple, uncomplicated, wholesome fun. It builds on the active nature of the schedule by creating an environment where kids and counselors get to know each other. The daily schedule is a balanced combination of outdoor activities and sports events. It can be as simple and natural as playing in the creek at the Carving Trees or as intense as a multi-station relay race known as the Huawni Derby and Run for the Roses. Outside of the scheduled activities, much of a camper's experience at Huawni is intended to be unplanned and spontaneous.

During regular activity days, campers are divided by age into small activity groups and are scheduled into three activity periods in the morning and three in the afternoon, with campers participating in a variety of activities.

Campers participate in a variety of activities, including:

- Swimming; Fishing; Hiking; Carving Trees; Canoeing; Archery; Critter (oversized jumping water pillow); Water Trolley; Soccer; Whiffleball; Horseshoes; Washers; Arts and Crafts; Volleyball; Basketball; Obstacle Course; Frisbee; Golf; Parasailing (for teen campers pending weather) & Water Slide.

Evening Activities & Special Events:
The evenings are a special time at Camp Huawni as the entire camp usually comes together for an event. The talented counseling staff creates major productions for the campers, while traditional activities keep the fun times going well after the sun goes down and affords campers the opportunity to make memories that are not soon forgotten.

* A Typical Day at Camp Huawni:
- 7:00 AM:  The sun is rising on the Camp Huawni campus and our staff begins the day with a devotional and staff meeting where assignments for the day are given.

- 7:45 AM:  Campers arise just before flag-raising and 'action of the day' at 8:00 am.

- 8:00 AM - 9:30 AM:  Flag raising and a little morning fun, then it's off to breakfast. Once each cabin finishes, it's back to the cabins for clean-up and inspection by 'Hector the Inspector.'

- 9:30 AM - 12:00 PM:  The morning program is divided into three activity periods, in which campers are divided into small groups by age to rotate to their activities.

- 12:00 PM - 2:30 PM:  Lunch, then mail call (quite the big deal) and rest period.

- 2:30 PM - 5:30 PM:  Activities resume with three periods in the afternoon.  Break time occurs between activities with a "Gatoraide" break so campers can stay hydrated and enjoy a short rest before dinner.

- 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM:  The pace slows down after the evening meal where campers have time to relax and enjoy a sunset or a leisurely walk with friends. The night activity is usually a camp wide event where girls camp and boys camp come together. Shower time, evening snack, and lights out occur between 9:30 PM and 10:30 PM depending upon the evening event and camper's age.
