Southern Institute of Technology has a proud history of vocational education and training. Established as Southland Polytechnic over 30 years ago and more recently known as Southern Institute of Technology, we provide students with quality education across a range of subject areas and at a variety of levels. By offering programmes from certificate and diploma to bachelor's degree and post graduate level you can enter your training at the level that suits you and progress as you are ready. With around 9,000 students, SIT is big enough to offer variety and a student culture, yet small enough to retain a friendly atmosphere.

NorthTec is a New Zealand Government (ITP) owned Institute of Technology. NorthTec is the Northland region's largest provider of tertiary education, with campuses and learning centres in Whangarei city and Kerikeri in the Bay of Islands, and Learning Centres in Rawene, Dargaville, Kaikohe and our northernmost site in Kaitaia. Students will receive a quality education that meets the high standards set by the New Zealand Government.

Taylors College, Auckland
Courses / Programs
Taylors College Auckland provides specialised university preparation programs in partnership with leading universities in New Zealand. With successful completion of the Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY), you will be guaranteed entry into the University of Auckland, AUT University and Massey University. In 2011, 94% of TAFY students were offered a tertiary place. Our university preparation courses are open to international students and also New Zealand students who don't meet the direct entry requirements for undergraduate degree programs.

There are three study options available for Taylors Auckland Foundation Year. If you have superior grades in English and relevant subjects and want to fast track your pathway to University, you can take the Intensive (Accelerated) Program. Intake is in April only and the course is 30 weeks.

If you have achieved at least average grades in English and relevant subjects, the Standard Program will be suitable for you. You can start your study in January (40 weeks), July (38 weeks) or August (35 weeks). Our Certificate in Pre-Foundation Studies has been designed to prepare you for academic study at foundation level.
University Preparation & English Language Courses:

- Taylors Auckland Foundation Year (TAFY) with 2 program options:

*Intensive (Accelerated) Program: This 30-week program is ideal if you have superior grades in English & relevant subjects and want to fasttrack your pathway to University.

Manukau Institute of Technology
Courses / Programs
Manukau Institute of Technology offers 1500 full and part time certificate, diploma, degree and post graduate study programmes, and a whole lot more. Manukau City located in the Auckland region of the North Island, is New Zealand's third largest city, and with 150 different ethnic communities calling it home, is proudly multi-cultural. Manukau Institute of Technology's academic year is as follows: semester one runs February – June, semester two: July – November. Many programmes have intakes in both semesters. English language programmes are available from February to December. There are four intakes per year: February, April, July, and October. A 6-week summer school is run in December and January. Each academic programme has its own entrance criteria. Each academic department has its own system of assessment. Examinations, tests, assignments and practical work are used in most cases. Exams are usually held at the end of each semester. Your course work marks as well as your exam marks determine whether you will succeed in a particular subject.
