Certificate Programmes:
Certificates may take from 12 weeks to one year to complete. Courses offered within a certificate can range from Levels 1 to 7. Certificates provide a broad introduction to a range of skills and knowledge in a particular subject area. Certificates at Levels 2 to 4 are often needed for entry into trades and service employment. Diplomas generally take between one to two years of full-time study to complete (or the part-time equivalent) and consist of courses from Levels 4 to 7. Diplomas are often required for entry to advanced trade, technical and professional occupations. Bachelor Degrees:
All degrees offered at Waiariki are bachelor degrees. A degree usually requires a minimum of three years full-time study (or the part-time equivalent) and includes courses at Levels 5 to 7. Degree qualifications are generally required for entry or advancement in professions, and provide further stair-casing opportunities for study at masters or doctoral level.

The Faculty of Informatics the fastest-growing faculty on the University of Wollongong campus in New South Wales (NSW), offers an exciting range of programs across our three Schools: Electrical, Computer & Telecommunications Engineering; Information Technology & Computer Science; and Mathematics & Applied Statistics. Manukau Institute of Technology offers 1500 full and part time certificate, diploma, degree and post graduate study programmes, and a whole lot more. Manukau City located in the Auckland region of the North Island, is New Zealand's third largest city, and with 150 different ethnic communities calling it home, is proudly multi-cultural. Manukau Institute of Technology's academic year is as follows: semester one runs February – June, semester two: July – November. Many programmes have intakes in both semesters. English language programmes are available from February to December. There are four intakes per year: February, April, July, and October. A 6-week summer school is run in December and January. Each academic programme has its own entrance criteria. Each academic department has its own system of assessment. Examinations, tests, assignments and practical work are used in most cases. Exams are usually held at the end of each semester. Your course work marks as well as your exam marks determine whether you will succeed in a particular subject.
