Intensive American English:
The Intensive American English Program is designed for those who wish to improve their English in a short period of time.

With a minimum of four and a maximum of twelve students per class, students have the benefit of practicing their spoken English skills in a small group environment.

At The Boston Language Institute, we employ the most modern methods in the field of language acquisition. The Intensive course is taught using the Communicative Method, which views each aspect of language learning -- grammar, conversation, reading and writing -- as a necessary support for the others.

Students learn new vocabulary and grammar while enhancing their English communication skills in a discussion-based class.

Class themes focus on high-interest topics, American Culture, and current events which present language in context and encourage critical thinking. Writing assignments are often given as homework to further build language competence.

English Immersion Program:
The English Immersion Program is designed for professionals who wish to dramatically improve their spoken and written English in a short period of time.

Whether currently required to use English on a daily basis, suddenly called on to interact with English-speaking clients, or facing the need to make an important presentation, professionals attending this intensive training will develop the skills they need to conduct business with confidence and effectiveness.

Areas of study include making presentations, participating in meetings, conducting negotiations, and writing business documents.

Over the years, this program has been successful in enhancing the English skills of engineers, programmers, business executives, educators, graduate students, medical practitioners and other professionals.

TOEFL Exam Preparation:
The TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) Preparation Program at The Boston Language Institute is designed to provide students at intermediate to advanced levels of English proficiency with test-taking strategies and skills to increase their TOEFL score.

This course is offered either in small groups of 4 to 12 students or as a private program. The Private Program is tailored to meet the needs of individual students. This program often benefits students who are looking to improve very specific skills or test areas.

English for Foreign-born Professionals:
English for Professionals addresses the special needs of non-native professionals who already speak English well. In small groups of 3 to 8 students, our course features work in pronunciation, public speaking, conversation, vocabulary building and advanced grammar and stylistics.

Slang and colloquial expressions are also taught. The EFBP Program is recommended for students at the intermediate or advanced level.
