The course combines general and Academic English (with a particular focus on writing) alongside academic study skills, and Exam preparation. There will be a mixture of class hours, tutorials, homework and guided self access. 
This course will cover the four skills: speaking, listening, reading and writing, with a focus on improving your fluency and ability to communicate in English.

We also work on your grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. The course is structured with a textbook and teachers also use other materials, such as DVDs, newspapers and magazines, and music. We plan our lessons to suit the needs and interests of the group. Afternoon classes will focus on academic language and skills, rather than general English.

You will receive advice on self-study and are encouraged to use English outside the classroom, particularly on our fun social programme, which includes cultural, touristic, social and sporting activities.

- The IELTS Exam
International students who wish to study at a British or Australian university usually need a suitable IELTS exam result. Some professional employers in the UK also require foreign practitioners whose first language is not English to achieve an IELTS score.

This communicative course will focus on the five areas of the FCE exam. The classes are based on lively topics which engage students in real life situations while developing exam techniques. Each lesson will allow students to practice and improve their speaking, writing, reading and listening and develop grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation.
Exam type tasks are given as homework, student progress is also monitored through class performance. All students receive support and advice from tutors.

We will ask you about your individual language and professional needs before you join the course. One-to-one lessons let you work on your language needs, and will help you to use English confidently and effectively. You can achieve your aims quickly, and previous students who have taken private lessons have been pleased with their fast progress. You can take any number of one-to-one lessons, from one to 30 hours each week. You can add one-to-one lessons to a group course, or take only private lessons.

We will ask you about your individual language learning needs when you start the course. Previous private classes have covered very different subjects, such as job interview preparation, giving presentations, speaking and listening practice, and pronunciation. You tell us what you want to study and we will plan the lessons for you.

Semi-Private Lessons:
A Semi-Private Lesson allows two students of the same level to study together with one teacher. By combining a group lesson with a private lesson, you get the advantages of learning with another person combined with the focus on your own individual learning needs.

Accommodation can be arranged in homestay, self-catering or hotel accommodation. We recommend staying in our friendly and welcoming homestay accommodation, which gives you lots of opportunity to practise your English, and lets you learn about Scottish life and culture.

This level is for those who have no knowledge of Arabic language.

The aim of this course is to give confidence and essential language to students who will travel to a Arabic speaking country. You will learn about greetings, asking and giving personal information, asking for directions, hotels, restaurant, buying tickets and so on.

You will be encouraged to communicate and understand basic vocabulary, phrases and grammar concepts, using a textbook and different communicative exercises, games, role-play, listening and visual exercises.

This level is for those who have no knowledge of Portuguese language.

The aim of this course is to give confidence and essential language to students who will travel to a Portuguese speaking country. You will learn about greetings, asking and giving personal information, asking for directions, hotels, restaurant, buying tickets and so on.

You will be encouraged to communicate and understand basic vocabulary, phrases and grammar concepts, using a textbook and different communicative exercises, games, role-play, listening and visual exercises.

Cambridge Certificated in Advanced English (CAE) Evening Course

- Levels: higher upper-intermediate to Advanced levels
- Minimum age: 18 years

The Cambridge Certificate in Advanced English (CAE) is an internationally recognised qualification in commerce, industry and education. This advanced course is suitable if you want to study part-time, and is particularly useful if you are working in the UK or are looking for work.

The exam comprises 5 papers carried out over 2 days. The exam tests competence in reading, writing, use of English, listening and speaking and can be taken in over 140 centres around the world.

This communicative course will focus on the five areas of the CAE exam. The classes are based on lively topics which engage students in real life situations in real life situations while developing exam techniques. Each lesson will allow students to practise and improve their speaking, writing, reading and listening and develop grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. This course is suitable for students who are at an Advanced level of English.
