Central School of English, London:
Central School of English is an English language school superbly located in the centre of London. Founded in 1968, we are a member of the OISE group of schools. We offer a wide range of quality English courses in London to adults, including General English, English for Business, Examination preparation (IELTS and Cambridge) and English for Executives. You can begin your course on any Monday and study for as long as you wish, from one week to one year. You decide when and how long you want to study.

English courses offered by the Central School of English include:

General English - standard / semi-intensive / intensive courses:
•Designed to help you improve your general ability to communicate in English
•Maximum 12 students per class
•Start every Monday, minimum number of weeks – 1, no maximum
•Minimum age 16
•Each lesson is of 60 minutes or 90 minutes duration
•Combine with one-to-one lessons
•5 levels from Elementary to Advanced
•Written and spoken test on your first day to assess your level of English and to place you in a class appropriate for you
•End-of-course certificate on the last day of your course
•Homework is given every day

English for Business - standard / semi-intensive / intensive courses:
•Designed for people working in a business environment or studying a business-related subject
•Maximum 12 students per class
•Start every Monday
•Minimum age 18
•Each lesson is of 60 minutes or 90 minutes duration
•Minimum level – good Intermediate
•Combine with one-to-one lessons
•A written and spoken test plus a needs analysis to ensure your requirements are met
•End-of-course certificate on the last day of your course
•Homework is given every day

Academic Year Programme:
•Designed for students who want to study for a longer period of time to improve their level of English perhaps in preparation for a university course.
•Maximum 12 students per class
•Start every Monday, minimum number of weeks – 24, no maximum
•Minimum age 16
•Each lesson is of 60 minutes or 90 minutes duration
•Combine with one-to-one lessons
•Includes IELTS or Cambridge examination preparation if required
•Monthly course review with Course Director
•University placement counselling can be arranged with specialist advisors

Depending on the number of lessons you choose these courses cover all the key areas of language learning including grammar, listening, speaking, vocabulary and writing.

Exam Preparation Classes:
•Maximum 12 students per class
•Minimum age 16
•Each lesson is of 60 minutes or 90 minutes duration
•Minimum level – IELTS and First Certificate – Intermediate, Cambridge Advanced – Upper Intermediate
•Combine with one-to-one lessons
•Enrolment on exam in London (exam fee extra)
•Regular practise in all areas of the examination
•TOEFL and TOEIC preparation takes place in one-to-one lessons enabling you to focus on the exam of your choice. Quatorial lessons can be offered at our Executive Centre also.

Combination English Courses:
These courses allow you to combine group lessons with individual tuition in order to maximise your progress in English. Choose from any of the General English or English for Business group courses and add 5, 10 or 15 individual Tutorial lessons per week.

Your Tutorial lessons will be designed exactly according to your specific language requirements and can focus on areas such as conversation practice, business English, English for examinations ( e.g. TOEFL, TOEIC), or any other area of your choice.

Study & Work Programme:
Students who take a minimum 4 week course at Central School of English can complement this with a minimum 4 week professional internship with a London-based company.

Your English course is followed by an unpaid placement which will take place within your chosen profession enabling you to gain valuable experience of working and using English in a real environment. An Upper Intermediate level of English is required to participate in this.
