Dive Academy Gran Canaria:
Dive Academy Santa Pola is a PADI 5 Star IDC centre and RYA Trainingcentre on the Costa Blanca. The centre is located in the new marina of Santa Pola, with the boat right in front of the centre! The ideal location!! The magnificent dive sites are only a short boat ride away. We dive mostly around the Isla de Tabarca. Some of the dive sites are inside the marine reserve!! Fantastic dives!! Besides fun dives, we also offer all PADI courses, all the way up to instructor. So, whether you are a beginner or an experienced diver, we have something to offer for everybody!

Padi dive courses
Dive Academy is a Padi 5 star IDC centre and Gold Palm resort. It is also Europe’s most southern Dive Centre and is the only dive centre on the island with its own private swimming pool!! This swimming pool is the perfect place for all our divers to learn or practise skills. Qualified divers or beginners, in our swimming pool you get all the time you need to learn the confidence building skills, in a safe and relaxing atmosphere.

We have something to offer the whole family! Whether you are a wannabe diver or a qualified diver, whether you want the kids to learn to dive or just do some fun dives yourself- we have something to offer the whole family! There are even sun beds at our swimming pool for divers and for the family or friends of the divers who do not wish to dive, to enjoy the warm Gran Canaria sun!!

Over 70% of the world surface is water. So 7/10 of the world is below the waves. Dive Academy can help you make your first steps towards exploring this underwater world in Gran Canaria!!

All our course are held in small groups of no more than 4 people, so that you will always have the full attention of the instructor and you will receive all the help that you need to learn to dive.

Dive Academy has multi lingual instructors and staff. We can on request cater for larger groups, please ask for details. The cost of all the course’s includes equipment rental and Padi registrations on completion. All you need to bring with you is your swimming costume and a SMILE!!

Snorkelling Safari
All you need to bring is your swimming costume, towel and smile and we will take care of everything else for you. You will have a presentation on the marine life you will be seeing and a brief explanation on how to snorkel safely. Then it is into the sea for a fun packed hour of Snorkelling!!

Bubble maker Course (1 day)
This is a course for our young adventures aged 8-10 years. We start this one day course with a brief explanation on how the equipment works and to cover all the required safety aspects. Then it is to our private pool where we will play games and teach them how to have fun under the water. Also if you want we can show them how to be a space man underwater with the weightless atmosphere under the water. We guarantee the newbee divers will leave with a smile on their faces and also there first diving certification from Dive Academy.

Discover Scuba Diving (1 day)
This is a one day course for our guests that wish to try diving for the first time. We will pick you up at 9. 30am and bring to the dive centre. (free of charge) and after completing some registration paperwork will start with a short 35minute video presentation, which gives a brief explanation on Scuba Diving. Then we will show you all the equipment you are going to use during the day. This will include an opportunity to take your first breath from the regulator (it is really easy!!). After that we will get you into your wetsuit and our private training pool. We will spend as long as you need playing games and teaching you how to swim, before showing you some basic skills on how to clear a regulator and mask underwater. When you are ready we will take a short break for dinner before making a dive in the sea. The dive will be in one of the bays in front of the dive centre, which is full of marine life including Octopus, Rays, Cuttlefish, Parrot fish and many more... On completing the course you will receive a certificate from Padi and you will be registered as having completed the course. When you are ready we will take you back to your Hotel (free of charge) with a smile on your faces!! If you wish you can stay with us for the rest of the day and enjoy the pool and the restaurants around the dive centre. We are sure that you will really enjoy your first diving experience with us!!

Scuba Diver Course (2-3 days)
This is a 2 to 3 day course which will teach you the basic information to Scuba Dive. Each day you will be picked up from your hotel at 9. 30am and dropped back off at the end of the day (free of charge) at 5:00pm. Over the course of the days you spend with us you will make 3 dives in our private pool and 2 dives in the sea. You will also watch 3 DVD of about 35minutes in length, each giving you the information for the next part of your adventure. By the end of the course you will make 3 quizzes to check your understanding of the course. They are very easy and if you get any wrong, we will go over them with you. On completing the course you will receive a certificate from Padi, which will liecence you to dive to 12m anywhere in the world with a Padi professional. You will receive a temporary card to take home with you, until you receive your liecence by post to your home address.

Open Water Course (3-4 days)
This is a 3 to 4 day course which will teach you all the information you will need to dive independently with another certified diver. Each day you will be picked up from your hotel at 9. 30am and dropped back off at the end of the day (free of charge) at 5:00pm. Over the course of the days you spend with us you will make 5 dives in our private pool and 4 dives in the sea. You will also watch 5 DVD of about 35minutes in length, each giving you the information for the next part of your adventure. By the end of the course you will make 5 quizzes to check your understanding of the course. Then you will make a final exam which covers everything you learnt during the course. You will have already covered all of the information you will need to pass this exam, as the questions are very similar to that of the quizzes. They are very easy!! On completing the course you will receive a certificate from Padi, which will liecence you to dive to 18m anywhere in the world independently with another certified diver . You will receive a temporary card to take home with you, until you receive your liecence by post to your home address.


Advanced Open Water Course (2 days)
This is a 2 Day course which is designed to take you to the next step in your diving adventure, whilst safely being supervised by your instructor. You have to make 5 dives to complete the course. One of which must be a Navigation dive, where you will learn how to navigate under water with both a compass and using natural navigation. Also you have to make a deeper dive of a depth of approximately 30m. This will give you a better understanding of what it is like at this depth and also give you the knowledge to be able to make dives of this depth after the course. Then you can choose any 3 other sections from the Advanced Manual. They include Photography, Wreck, Nitrox, Peak Performance Buoyancy, Boat, Night, Fish ID, Search and Recover, Drift, Dry suit and many more…. They are all great fun and you will be happy to know there is no exam at the end of the course. You do however have to make the knowledge reviews, the same as you did in your Open Water Course. On completing the course you will receive a certificate from Padi, which will liecence you to dive to 30m anywhere in the world. You will receive a temporary card to take home with you, until you receive your liecence by post to your home address.

Emergency First Response (1 day)
This is a one day course which covers basic first aid and CPR. There are 2 parts to the course. The first part of the course is about Primary Care and covers all aspects of giving somebody life saving help as a lay person. The second part of the course is about Secondary Care and covers all aspects of giving somebody non life threatening care. The course is good fun, with a serious side to it.

This course has to be completed before you can attend the Rescue diver course, unless you have already a first aid course.

On completing the course you will receive a certificate from Padi, which states that you have completed a basic first aid course. You will receive a temporary card to take home with you, until you receive your liecence by post to your home address.
