Situated by the beautiful Grand Canal, a minute's walk from the lively shops and cafés of Baggot Street and only ten minutes' walk from St. Stephen's Green and the National Museum, the School is housed in a superb 4-storey Georgian building. The School is only a 5-minute walk from the nearest train (DART) station and the main local bus routes.

For students aged 17+ (and 14+ in July and August), the School provides a warm and friendly environment in which to study. The owners are actively involved in the day-to-day running of the School, and our teachers will often mix with you at breaktime in the School café.

Social Activities:

The Language House social activities programmes provide you with a great deal to see and do after the lessons and at weekends. They offer an excellent way for you to discover the beauty and rich history of Dublin and Ireland, have fun and find useful opportunities for improving your English.

We have 2 activities on weekdays and 1 Saturday coach trip every other week from September to June. During July and August, we arrange 4 weekday activities and one weekend trip per week.

Courses:

General English, Intensive English Course, Business English, Speaking and Examination courses, Academic Year English Course, English summer school. At the end of the course you will receive The Language House Attendance Certificate which shows the level of English you have attained and gives details of the course chosen and completed.

Our courses are based on learning practical English usage and structure. Whichever course you decide to follow, your time with your teacher in class, in the Multi-media room and in the School cafe will help you develop and improve your English effectively and enjoyably.

The Language Centre at University College Cork offers intensive courses and part time courses in ELT during the academic year, and also has a Summer School from July to mid-September. The courses are open to both students of UCC, and those who wish to take one of the many courses available at the centre.
