The COPPEAD Graduate School of Business - The Graduate School of Business Administration of the Federal University of Rio of Janeiro/UFRJ - was created in 1973, and since then has been developing the highest standard and up-to-date center for advanced studies and research activities in Business Administration in Brazil. COPPEAD's graduate courses - Master's and Doctorate's degrees, and Executive Education Programs - have been preparing executives, consultants, faculty and researchers of renowned competence, contributing to the excellence of Brazil's human resources.

Donors' Club:
The COPPEAD Donors' Club was created in order to publicly recognize companies and institutions that contribute with resources to sponsor the school's academic projects, lines of research, scholarships for MBA and Doctoral students, and improvement of technology and facilities. Through several types of grants, sponsoring companies support specific projects related to the continuous improvement of teaching and research activities, the excellence of which is recognized in Brazil and abroad. Membership in this program allows donating companies to earn broad recognition among students, professors and the general public.

These activities are coordinated by some of the school’s faculty who have worked with major Brazilian clients, such as Petrobras, BR Distribuidora, Companhia Vale do Rio Doce, Gerdau, CSN, Ipiranga, Braskem, Votorantim Celulose e Papel and Unibanco; pension funds like Previ and Petros, and institutions such as BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development), FINEP (Finance Institute for Studies and Projects, linked to the Ministry of Science and Technology), FIESP (Federation of Industries of the State of São Paulo), CNT (National Confederation of Transports) and the IBGC (Brazilian Institute of Corporate Governance). The school’s expertise also comprises projects with international organizations like the World Bank, the OECD - Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development and Charles Schwab.
