The Lisbon MBA:
The Lisbon MBA is a partnership between the two top business schools in Portugal, Católica-Lisbon and Nova SBE. Created in 2007 as part of a program of expansion and internationalisation of higher education in Portugal, the Lisbon MBA includes a 2-year part-time MBA and an 1-year full-time International MBA, in partnership with MIT’s prestigious Sloan School of Management. Our MBA programs are taught entirely in English. We welcome students from Portugal and international students from around the world.

MBA Degree Programs (taught in English)

The Lisbon MBA International Program - 1-year full-time program:
This is a full-time degree in business administration framed in an international environment with a focus on both the academic component and interpersonal competencies that develop strong leaders. From January to May, you will  focus on the core skills and knowledge of international business administration through coursework in organizations, marketing, strategy, economics, accounting, and finance. Optional Portuguese classes are available for international students.

Over four weeks in June, you will attend the Sloan School of Management at the MIT campus in the city of Cambridge, close to Boston. While at the MIT campus, you will tackle global issues in management and technological innovation and you will have the opportunity to explore the cities of Cambridge and Boston and experience life at MIT. Throughout July and August, you’ll integrate what we call our action learning path: you will get in touch and practice what you've learned with real projects and companies through internships and our international labs in order to best serve your professional ambitions.

You will return to Lisbon at the end of August and you will then have the opportunity to focus on a specific area of management or to diversify your skills by selecting your elective courses. In addition, you will have have an integrative course that will allow you to choose between working on a live consulting project or developing your own business plan.

The Lisbon MBA - 2-year part-time program:
This is a 2-year part-time degree in business administration, completely adapted to your professional and personal life, with a focus on the academic components and on interpersonal competencies. The part-time program accommodates students with full-time jobs by holding classes during the evenings and on the weekends. You will have the opportunity to participate in the International Study Trip during your first or second year of the program.

Throughout the first year, you will gain a solid foundation in modern general management, through coursework in economics, accounting, finance, marketing and organizational behavior. You will begin developing your leadership, team-building, and communication skills during the Leadership Stream Series.  During the third term, you will select your first elective courses from a carefully selected list of courses that will provide you with the last techniques and expertises recquired by the business world.
